2025-05-04 19:36:20 +0000 UTCsome idea for youtube or patreon: -bonus episodes with one extra animal each on that weeks topic, quizes are cool but, I would like it if space had a mic (its hard to hear him), weekly/monthly animal news updates? whats going on in the world on animal research, (whats cool, whats something we should worry about, whats interesting, etc.) -bonus content/extra, I miss the bookmark making behind the scenes videos, or even a short video of maya drawing the bookmarks, more merch!, react to funny animal videos on youtube or tiktok, react to weekly Alveus clips, random vlogs -Other ideas: I would love out door podcast episodes too (film on a hike/ on top of a mountain, in a national park, in a cave like you mentioned), guest episodes with alveus staff teaching maya/connor more about their favourite species (i would love to about sharks and vultures), etc. -also i think long-form content is better in this case since its a podcast, we're hear for longer deeper conversations :) i love the yapping episodes!

Often I’m thrown off when I hear Maya shout it, then there’s usually some dead space before we hear the question. Sometimes it’s hard to hear the Producer. I think a little more “production” in this moment would add some fun to the episodes. Just my two cents!

I am less interested in short-form content but I’m also almost 31 so I might not be your target audience. #old! I love listening to the full episodes while I’m cooking or driving and then watching the patreon bonus eps throughout the week as a “little treat” after work. The quizzes and trivia are so fun. I also love getting to know you both as people — so stuff like fun clips, updates from behind the scenes, etc. would be cool (that’s why I love your Q&A — hearing about your personal experiences is so interesting).

2025-04-21 07:27:59 +0000 UTCIt'd be cool to have a monthly or quarterly conservation news update, whether that's just updates on interesting conservation projects ("Here's how making New Zealand predator free is going"/"There's a new project to reintroduce animal X in place Y"), or if it's Patreon exclusive, even more political stuff you may be hesitant to post to a general audience ("Here's how the budget cuts to the National Park Service turned out a few months in"/"The Fish and Wildlife Service is removing protections against habitat destruction, here's what that means"). I don't really follow conservation news that closely outside of this patreon, and so far it's been more focused on general knowledge stuff than things that are going on right now, so that could be a useful educational thing, although it's probably a bit too crunchy to get good numbers.

I’m sure there are so many rabbit holes you fall down during research, it would be great to explore one of those. Or an animal which didn’t quite make it to main but was interesting. It allows the dynamic between the hosts to come through too. Maya's point about short form content is a valid one though. Everyone wants to consume and move on sadly.

I think Conner’s wheel video idea for the extra content could be fun to watch. Personally I loved the what if video and would like to see it more. If it didn’t do the best then maybe sprinkling it in here and there. A few ideas could be along the lines of: 1. What if animals could evolve human-level intelligence—how would ecosystems adapt? 2. What if octopuses lived as long as humans—how would their intelligence evolve/what would they be capable of? 3. What if humans had the strength-to-weight ratio of ants—how would that redefine sports or labor? 4. What if humans could hibernate like bears—would society adapt to seasonal sleep cycles? I am excited for the possibility of travel episodes and if they are able to happen then vlogs, pictures, just behind the sense could be fun for the Patreon when and where it would be possible.

Also if it makes you feel better (maybe because I’m a bit older) I had no clue who you were as a streamer 😅 I found you out from your collab video with Georgie in the thumbnail! I didn’t know the streamer but I love frogs and had never seen one like him. The points you had made regarding science education, the demographics you were targeting, the age ranges left behind and your approach made sense. As I kept watching through the catalog I also saw how invested the team had been in animal welfare in such a multifaceted way including those working with the animals which I think people don’t really see. Especially having aunts and friends work around them it’s…hard to explain 😅. Having a friendly lion you can pet isnt normal or good. It’s not a good life for them. They may understand because they work in it but the public doesn’t. So the work and showing compassion and empathy to animals without personifying or assigning human traits to them is so awesome 🤩 thank you all for your works ❤️ and I hope your interactions nurture the future of conscientious folks!
