Trish
That’s not the exact word I used, but basically, yeah. You did say this was, like, a seafaring campaign, right?
MMS
Yeah, I— (sighs) did you just make Captain Jack Sparrow?
Trish
Don’t be ridiculous, I would never do something like that.
MMS
Uh-huh, sure. Right, so, this totally-not-Captain-Jack-Sparrow character — class and background?
Trish
Multiclass Mastermind Rogue/Celestial Warlock, Soldier background.
MMS
Huh. Well… okay, go on.
Trish
Well, there’s not too much to say. He’s married, has a kid, just finished fighting in a war, but I try not to make big backstories for my characters—
MMS
You do??
Trish
—because the adventure’s only just starting. At this point, y’know, he’s just a man.
MMS
Uh, okay. You said Celestial Warlock?
Trish
Right, yeah, so his patron is a deity of, like, wisdom and cleverness. Feeds back into his Rogue thing.
