I laughed so hard about your reaction to Alphas death. 😂 I think I looked nearly the same.
I didn't saw that the room, in which she was, was bigger than the house that Alpha and Negan were at but I've seen enough movies and tv shows to kinda expect the plottwist. But I thought Lydia would already be gone when they arive. Until that moment when I saw that Lydia was in a different place I wasn't sure if Negan would actually sacrifice her. Normally he would never kill a child or get a child killed, but maybe if it ment to protect all the others (and he clearly tried to do that) he would be able to take that step.
I think the point of capturing Lydia was that she was out of the way. He was not searching for her but stumbled over her in the woods. That could have happened to every other Whisperer. If it would have happened when Negan was about to tell Alpha that he have her, then Alpha would have known that he lied and he wouldn't get a chance to kill her.
I was shocked that Carol worked with Negan. All the time I thought IF he really only had gone to the Whisperers to get to kill Alpha, that he would have done it on his own account.
I was sad about Mary and Earl, too.
