What I don’t understand as a woman (please hear me out) is that women don’t want to be treated as objects. Yet, women like this objectify themselves and wonder why they aren’t taken seriously. The real movement is the one that has turned hundreds of thousands of people into social media zombies who no longer care about the real world, but instead exist only for their virtual life. We live in a world now where authenticity is dying and empathy and kindness are being replaced by greed and narcissism. Influencer culture is taking over the minds of our children, who have been surrounded by it their whole lives, and it's teaching them that the only thing that really matters is likes or follower to following ratio, and the only lives that matter are virtual lives. We can no longer care about anyone, or anything, without posting it and seeking praise or validation for it. And it's so rare, anymore, to see an act of kindness that is done without an ulterior motive. I watched a guy, the other day, on a video where he'd filmed himself helping a man push his car out of the road. We can't even help a stranger in need without first thinking, "I need to grab my phone and film this for some great content!" It's so sad. The social media movement is the only movement these people really care about.
