The blood-curdling hiss of the welding torch, the grinding and groaning of metal, the music of Dregs at work. Sealing you into sweltering darkness, an anaemic sardine in a wrought iron death machine. Molten metal seeps down from just above your temple, scalding and blistering your cheek as the final panel is welded into place. Plunged into darkness you can feel the clammy bodies of the other Scabs in here with you. Sticky with sweat and writhing in anticipation.
You've been waiting for this moment. You, a repellent Scab, an awful aristocratic factory boss with hopes to climb the social ladder. You're finally getting your wish, to be sealed into a terrifying war machine with no hope of escape, to martyr yourself, for your body to rot in this dark iron cage. You'll finally be someone. Suddenly a dull red glow illuminates the cockpit, your eyes adjust to your new hell: tubes, pipes and dials. It's time. Corpulent maggots working as one squabbling organism. The Scab Tank revs into gear.
Outside the tank, the Dregs of the Factory Cult stretch their tired limbs and pick the pipes from filth covered vegetables. Haughty Impalers ride by on their steeds and Stylites hover in the air. Job well done. Another load of Scabs sealed into place and just in time for lunch.
Swill is a new game set in the Turnip28 universe. Part skirmish game, part Covid fever dream, you'll take command of one of the many factory cults and do tank battle with flame, oil and murderous violence.
This painting is another taste of Swill, from the amazingly talented Robin Carey. A glimpse into the cockpit of a scab tank piloted by the Knights of Swill, a Factory Cult obsessed with blood powered machinery and sticking people on very sharp spikes.
More teasers to come, and don't worry Turnip's still alive and wriggling. Consider this a pilgrimage of a skirmish game to better use the campaign mechanics I've been working on.
Hop over to the discord if you want to ask me any Swill based questions or try to guess at what's to come.
Thanks for all your support and making this possible.
