Devlog #20: Phase 2 Redesigns: Recap

Good morning! Let's do a recap of what I've been working on so far.

This change is due to the transition from a stats system to a profession system with experience and levels, similar to how the girls work. Oh, and yes, the Lumberjack doesn't have a pose because on Patreon, we're deciding what design Lisapi should use to represent this profession.

What's New?

I'm working on new crafting items (packs) for the "Commissions".

This is still in the middle of being added, but I've already done half the work. It's important to know that, although I should be checking the profession quest, which I will, I first want to focus my efforts on other things while I plan the quest revision. I need to find a way to approach the profession quest that doesn't interfere with the one where we meet Sara and doesn't create inconsistencies. Anyway, I should be working on it throughout the week. I mention this because Commissions are part of the profession quest.

A New Project Focus: Chapters

We have a new and final title screen (presplash), or at least for a while.

This is not just because I've been thinking about going back to using different title screens according to the content cap, but because of something more important: I have decided to structure the project into "Chapters". It's not literally like chapters in a book, but more like what games like WoW or FFXIV have always done, to give some well-known examples (even though they don't call them chapters, but expansions; in the end, it's the same thing). My direct inspiration for this is "Runes of Magic," but I don't think it's as well-known as the others.

With that said, the game will be called "Lust Age Chapter X: ChapterName", with this new adventure being a first chapter called "New Home". The final name would be something like "Lust Age Chapter I: New Home".

Since the story of the Lust Age universe is structured in a way that you can tell when one part ends and another begins, this should make it easier for all of us to follow the story better. Based on the old project, this first chapter should last until the purification of the "Moon Lake".

I've left out all the technical work I've been doing these days, but if you want to know more details, you can always take a look at the W.I.P.

The rest of the week, I should be working on adding the chapter name into the game title, checking the profession quest, and finishing the changes to the "Commissions". I'll also use this time to check the crafting costs for the Improved Backpack, which will serve as a base for the costs of crafting the other backpacks and items that increase the cap on materials, gifts, etc.
