Several centuries ago, artists, musicians, philosophers and the like depended upon some rich patron to provide income, and in many cases, a place to live on the estate or in the castle. If this were still so, you would be justified in thinking that failure to be productive could be an invitation to leave the premises. I enjoy whatever you create, whenever you get the time to make it, and am happy to put a tip in your jar, You are funny, unpredictable and worth it.
