A fond show from my teen years just got remade and I'm not too impressed.

I have cringed through a few remakes of great movies. Yikes, is it that they thought "well everybody loves this movie, so we don't have to try too hard?"

Remakes are really not necessary for awesome old series. It's not all about recreating everything with modern animation - sometimes the old series is just awesome as it is, with all its 80s/90s charme. For example, one of my favorite series is Maison Ikkoku, and that is ANCIENT. But the story is awesome, and I like the 80s Japan charme.
