Anime's Age Problem

Is there really a problem, or are people just being outraged again?

Anime's Age Problem

Comments

Yes, all this (especially the UN initiative) is getting quite ridiculous, and the worst thing is that I believe those making the decisions have absolutely no clue about anime, they just see a picture and go "that looks like what I believe to be a very young girl, so it must be child pornography/pedophilia". Another problem is that in some cases (e.g. Reddit) the censorship seems to be due to pandering to the advertisers. That is, the admins put money over the interests of the users. So explaining things to them won't help much - even if they understood that it is silly to ban people for posting screenshots of currently airing shows from TV/Crunchyroll/Netflix which *clearly* are completely legal to watch in ths US, even for children, they will still be more interested in making the advertisers happy. And all that happens while real photographs of naked real life girls who look 14-15 (while being older) are still easily available in several subreddits created for that exact purpose and nobody is being banned there for "posting what looks like a minor in a sexually provocative pose".
