Nihallak dEvolution sketch

I will be doing more design sketches in the coming weeks as I prepare for the new chapter, I hope you enjoy the extra bits of backstory they provide! Some details about the Nihallak mutations. -The original body seem water based because the nihallak universe was filled with plasma instead of void, and planets were nothing more than chunks of elements, more like asteroids. Their technology is biomechanical, and was engineered from living creatures over millenias. -Their universe was rich in fundamental energy (soul energy) because their universe was closer to Origin (where all soul energy radiate from) than the fairie's universe. -When escaping their old, dying universe they had to pick a parallel universe to jump in, they scanned several thousands, but the Fairies's Universe was the one with the most soul energy present, which was still like a desert wasteland compared to their former universe, but they made the jump nonetheless. -The fundamental forces of our universe are useless to the nihallak for energy production. Gravity, electromagnetism, strong and weak nuclear, it means nothing to them, as they are existing outside of the universe, their ship being a pocket of their old universe embedded in that one. They had to learn and compensate for things like gravity just to be able to land and stay on planets without hurling back into space. -First they changed their body to save the energy they had and to interact better with their new environment, but then as the war began and their number started to dwell due to casualties and energy starvation, they had to further simplify their body so that several nihallaks could be made with the energy cost of a single one. -They have the technology and blueprints to recreate their former bodies, but they would need a lot of sustained energy to make it happen. Some of the nihallak were rather considering transferring their mind into bodies created in the fairies's universe, so that they could feed from the various "lower" energy source present everywhere. But most nihallaks were seeing this concept as a sacrilege and the extinction of their proud specie.
