Great book. Well worth waiting for. Thanks Daniel. I see I have to wait 6 mths for the next one, Damn. Oh well I'll just have to console myself with AR and LV hopefully. Keep it up.

I do have a question Daniel... I know the Morrigan bent the rules when she sent Sean to this new world but as he was not compelled to correct their “mistake” it was within the rules as they can’t travel to the world. Since Einharjar and Valkyries from the Norse Pantheon actually traveled there would that violate the “agreement” as they are directly interfering? Would that allow Morrigan to assist Sean in his Current crisis? We know he doesn’t die as the series revolves around him and his changing of society. He heard the sound of crows when he past out. I realized they had evened out the odds as the battle was winding down but it appeared several of his wives were severely injured and his energy was drained to a point where he would need an in infusion of outside energy or a long recovery period.

I'm with Drew in this. I think cliffhanger ending are devices used by authors who lack confidence and try to entice people to the next book. You're an awesome writer and didn't need to pull that. Add in that you are writing multiple series and it means the wait to find out may not be worth continuing the series for some of us.

6 ish months is going to be hard but at least AR, LV and AG will be released during that time? Can we expect advanced chapters for tou loyal Patreon followers? Heck i would consider even the 1st chapter of BW6 when its up next in the queue worth my tier. AR and BW alone are worth it. All the other books are just the cherry on top of cream on my favorite milk shake.

Endings are hard, but that ending was just... really jarring. Even if you don’t tell us how the fight went. A conversation with morrigan or something would help ease us out, instead of BOOM SNAP DONE, hahah. That’s my opinion at least... 🤷🏻♂️
Edit: the ending will probably work a lot better once the next book is out, because going to the next book from that sounds ok, but having nothing to transition to hurts 😩

I have to say, I just finished Forged Bonds 5, and while I loved the book so much, I did not like the way it ended. I loved every moment up to that point, but I feel like it should definitely not have been left on that cliff hanger. It’s not that I just dislike cliffhangers or anything, it was just... to abrupt, in my opinion. Jarring. These books are like 70-80% slice of life feel good times, and I don’t think a “is (mostly) everyone dead?”cliffhanger belongs in that series. Even an epilogue chapter just for Patreon fans or something would really help with the teeth shattering intensity of the jarring ending, lmao.
That being said, the book was fucking fantastic over-all. Honestly even with the ending I didn’t care for - which is entirely opinion - it was still easily 5 stars. 6 if I could give it.

Oh, don't misunderstand me, I do agree. I'm not complaining, especially cos I love all his series and can't really pick between them for the most part. Just the fact that I'm confident that the next book will actually get written and isn't an abandoned project puts Daniel ahead of a number of other authors whose books I have read.

At least we get an estimate for when it comes out, unlike some authors who if they even respond to the question just say something to the effect of when it gets done. Seriously, I dont mind a cliffhanger if the author is even a bit communicative about when we get the next book, but some just suck at feedback to their readers or dont seem to care. And sixish months isnt all that bad compared to the decade plus Ive waited before.

As others here have commented in different words, you clearly follow the tenets of Terry Brooks, as exemplified in his Shannara series - every chapter higher power, higher risks, and wherever practical, a cliff hanger.

In a word awesomeness, love your books every one I read I get sucked into and have to devour it till I finish, bw is like a rough diamond each book just keeps polishing it, I hate and love the ending which is why it’s awesome because a good author film etc should leave you with the feeling of wanting more only to realise that all good things you have to have in moderation and to wait for the next book, we haven’t even got into the fae and quaditals arcs yet so I can’t wait for more wives (a superior naga female please next) I wonder if the Valkyrie will be his next?

Come on CHoobler, biting your nails, swearing at the author and sulking are all part of the process. I too have the book and, like you. thoroughly enjoyed it and am now stuck hanging out for the next one. Patience people I'm sure one will appear. (Eventually)

Well to be honest I do a lot of reading and the two things that I see that make a good writer is keeping a reader engaged and to make them want more, which you do vary well. when I say “you suck for that” I mean it in a way that means we will have to wait for the next book. With all the events that took place at the end there where probably no good place to end the story without it ending in a unsatisfying way. So given the narrative that you have building you probably made the best possible ending. Plus I enjoyed it so that means more in the end for me.

Finding a place to end one of the books is hard. The only other place to end it would have been before the last party... Now how would you have felt if it ended there?

It would have been a satisfying conclusion that would have made sense. He's already established that in the Apocalypse Gates where he just transitioned one chapter into flying a plane that isn't necessarily what he wants to do as an author.
