Astra - Monthly Update (December 2021)

Hello Patrons,

Hope everyone is having an amazing week so far and are ready for the upcoming holidays!! This is the December 2021 update for Astra which will be the last status report for the year. So without further delay, let's get started!

Please note there are medium spoilers (artwork and locations that are main path specific but may reveal certain game content; writing titles revealing game events).

WRITING

Episode 3 Part 2 grew so much that we are just calling it episode 4 now. The game length is looking to be almost twice the length of Crystalline and about 1.5x of ACE Academy. There is some phat content and I can only imagine it will grow more as add more things in!

As for the episode itself, this episode does follow Vaela's arc so it'll be a bit Vaela heavy on content, however the other two lovely ladies will get some extremely satisfying scenes. My favourite is the Iris heartbeat one and I can't wait for you guys to be able to see it.

CHARACTER ART

Sunimu has been hard at work finalizing sketch CG's to their completed versions! We have two more in the bag and he'll be continuing to move forward. He's also been supporting Live2D artwork activities as we've been rigging those assets up!

BACKGROUND ART

Our three background artists have been smashing it again this month with a whole bunch of new BGs. The last few of them are related to the episode 3 planet that you visit. No, it is not Tatooine!!!! Apart from that, we are making some alternative BG's for some of the space docks and such so we minimize (or hopefully, don't have to) reuse any BG's throughout the game.

All three of Celeste's outfits are done! Our Live2D animator is now working on the last and final planned model for Kai.

PROGRAMMING

On the programming side, we've been working through the feedback notes that were provided from the read-only playtesters as well as continuing to play around with Naninovel on what features we want to add as net new to Astra. Nothing major to report at this time!

AUDIO

Eric is actually a composing wizard since he just went from making a super anime track to an amazingly elegant classical piece! The preview is attached to the post and it really fits with the 'high class society' vibe we were aiming to do for this track!
