I guess for some reason the subtitles just weren't an available option for this episode, I'm so sorry about that folks! I'm not sure if this is how it'll be for the entire season, but I guess there's not much that can be done, my apologies. I always feel like something's missing when there's no subtitles lol ; - ;
Also a heads up on the NieR episode schedule! NieR episodes will come out once a week, every Wednesday @ 12:00pm PST. Since the anime is ongoing and the dubs are still releasing, I decided to do once a week instead of twice so that we don't run out of episodes and I'll be starting a new series to drop on Sundays! There's a poll on a previous post to choose which series I'll be reacting to next, so feel free to participate in that if you're interested!

Man I had no idea there were so many easter eggs in the ending alone, but I'm always so grateful when you point them out! I toootally get the Yona vibes. I'm not as familiar with Drakengard stuff haha, but these are all really amazing to know! always live for the brainrot

I had to pause at "HUGE BOAR MENTION" because I was laughing too hard lmaooooo You caught that smirk too! In the game, 9S did learn about the E models from that side quest. It's the "other" E model that he learns about at the end from A2. The timeline does get hard to follow here and I'm not sure I understand it either. I believe it's showing us events in the past, where 2B had to take care of business prior to the events of the game? But that would mean the side quest happens before the game too. Ugh I dunno! Maybe next episode will explain, but I don't remember! When the wall in the Command Center at the Bunker folds open and there are giant flight units in there is a reference to the FF14 x Automata crossover raid. This episode is just so much to process. The desert temple?! The executions?! Emil?! Even the ED is wild with its easter eggs: - 2B's body language and silhouette when walking on the beach remind me of Yonah when she walks toward the Shadowlord. - The flower over 2B's eye and the movements of her dancing are like Zero from Drakengard 3. - The song itself "Ashes and Prayers" is like a combination of "Ashes of Dreams" from Replicant and "Inori (Prayers)" the Reincarnation main theme. Sorry. Brainrot. Anyway, Ad break transition messages for Episode 13: [Report] Referring to records from when the object of observation was not a singularity. [Report] The subject is committing the same act in all branches.

2024-09-11 21:36:30 +0000 UTCI interpreted this episode as mostly a flashback, showing all of the times 2B has had to kill 9S up to this point. There are a few specific flashbacks that get more time in the spotlight like the shopping mall and the red scarf lady side quest. At the end of the episode it seems to show the present (2B in the hand of giant Machine Lifeform 9S after killing Adam) with the Commander now preparing for the next battle.

2024-09-11 19:34:03 +0000 UTCSo happy you are continuing these! Closed captions / proper subtitles weren't added to the season 1 English dub for a LONG time. I don't know the exact time, but it was quite awhile after the entire English dub was available. So likely there won't be any for season 2 anytime soon. :( Despite that, I have found the quality of the season 2 episodes to be on another level compared to season 1. Can't wait to see your reactions to the rest :)
