Patreon Declined Pledge System

Helllllo Rivans.

It has come to my attention that I've been acting under false information regarding when declined pledge payments stop trying.

In the past, I read that if a patron's pledge payment is declined (as in they do not have a valid payment method to pay) when it first tries to take the payment at the beginning of the month, Patreon will attempt once more every day for almost a week before giving it up as a declined payment for the month. This is the reason I do not process rewards until about a week into the month.

Patreon has been making a lot of changes in the last 6 months, and it appears that this system is no longer how it works. Instead it seems it continues to try every day until the payment is sorted. I think. It's a bit hard to follow how they word it.

What all this means is that when I processed rewards a week into the month, it's been entirely possible that some patrons (whose pledges have cleared and processed after this date) have been without their just rewards. To make it worse, I was certain in my knowledge that there would BE no new processed pledges after this date. I had no reason to doubt that.

I would like to profusely and sincerely apologise to any patron who has been without their rewards in recent months due to this misunderstanding on my part and miscommunication on Patreon's. I will be thoroughly evaluating how I can redo my reward processing system so that I can ensure all patrons receive their rewards when they're due without having to check every day for formerly-declined pledges being processed.

I hope anyone inconvenienced can forgive my shortsightedness regarding this.
