Thanks for sharing this! I know it was a while back but I’m happy to have scrolled down and found this. I’ve wondered how you navigate teaching revolutionary politics/thinking to your children, and I admire the way you give them space to express themselves before expanding their ideas into larger societal patterns of capitalism. Would love to hear a conversation where you discuss parenthood from a leftist perspective directly (not with the kids on i mean) , if you haven’t done that! It was also really heartbreaking to hear these girls speak on the objectification they already feel, but uplifting to hear that they recognize what is going on and know where to place the blame for it. As a woman in my 20s I remember feeling this gaze and feeling like it was normal- I didn’t have the language at 12 or 14 that they do to understand that this is wrong. Thanks for sharing!
