Desperate times...
Added 2020-02-21 12:45:56 +0000 UTCDespite your amazing support here on Patreon, and a general upwards trajectory in both jobs and sales, the finances for February do not add up, and it's getting critical (More on the reasons afterwards). So here's two things I'm gonna do:
1. I will be opening up for 10 commissions at 100$ per commission. This is about 50$ to 150$ lower than my regular minimum commission cost. It's for an original, A4, black & white ink, or colour with ink and watercolour. International shipping as a regular letter, B-post, included.
(I retain the print rights, so I can publish the scan for free use later. If you need something for a project, then we can discuss how and when I'll release it for free use so you van get an exclusive period).
I'm not posting this here to extort you for more money. I'm very thankful for what you give. But I just wanted to give you guys a heads up, before I announce the commissions slots publically on Monday.
2. Those of you wanted T-shirts, I've finally checked how much it is for international shipping. With the prints and the T-shirt and packaging, we're probably tipping a bit over 1 kilo, so the price for shipping is the ridiculous 36$. That means if you get the T-shirts for a bit less than I sell them at Galleri Fjalar, I can sell the whole pack, T-shirt and misprints, for 70$ per. I know that's pretty high shipping cost, but Norway is Norway. If you're still interested, in a T-shirt, then message me.
So... The reason February is very tight this year... is mostly freelance stuff. I'm simply waiting for jobs, including a couple where I thought I had a deal, and then when I'm supposed to start the job I simply can't get a hold of the clients. This happens pretty regularly for freelancers. Sometimes it turns out the client was just really busy, and the job goes ahead, but quite often it turns out that they had a change of mind, or their finances suddenly change, and they're too much of a sissy to actually have the decency to tell you. Hopefully it's the former, and we'll continue the jobs soon. But right now there's two jobs that vanished like this, and that takes it's toll.
In addition, January is the time a year where my online gallery has to be paid. It's a quite expensive plan, 360$ a year, but it's the only one I've found that allows me everything I need to continue releasing free art in hi-res, and opening for print-on-demand. If I can't pay that bill before February first, the online gallery closes, and I don't quite know what to do.
(There's also a lot of regular bills).
I have other jobs waiting, that I hope will go through, and sales through galleries that I will get paid soon, but nothing that can help in time to pay the online gallery.
So... There's no pressure on you guys, you already give more than enough. But I thought you deserved dibs on the commissions, and full transparency why I'm doing it. Thank you for your support, and have a great weekend!
