I've been to other countries & around other ethnics & they were in awe of my fro, or braids & or burst fade & curly hair/natty..even one of my so called Caucasian coworkers said that he & his Caucasian wife look at black folk as royalty..those are his words not mine. The self hatred is unwarranted..if really the cats like Van Lathan & other black folk who looking for that hug understand that respect & knowledge of black folk has been prevalent for many yrs..not knowing who you are & believing those in power has been a huge detriment for a lot of em unfortunately. I'm sure a lot of you brothas in here can attest to other ethnics showing some type of respect or appreciation for you in some way, esp overseas, it's like you a celebrity or some shit.
