October Preview + Roadmap

October is when the Shadow Stalkers release the Fiends. These raptor like beasts with tendrils on their backs come in different variations from normal to extra large, each one more deadly than the last. The Reapers challenge monsters and heroes much larger than themselves and more often than not come out on top. October is also the first deployment of the Human Defense Force, The infantry being the bulk of the force with lots of special weapon options. For more firepower there's also the Weapon Teams with a variety of heavy weapons, then to get everything where it needs to go, the HDF APC rolls out.

October New Release

October is when the nightmares arrive for the Shadow Stalkers. The Reapers are deadly weapon masters with halberds or great weapons, using their skill to challenge foes much larger than themselves and come out on top. The Reaper Champion further adds to the Reaper skill set to make them even more deadly or terrifyingly swift, causing even more nightmares for the monsters of Tyria. The Reaper on Flying Beast then is a menace to all things that thought they might be able to escape the wrath of the Reapers, flying in over the battle to locate and descend upon their prey. The Fiends are what happens when folklore becomes reality; vicious large mouthed beasts with tentacle like appendages lashing out from their backs like the kind of monsters you hear in horror stories. The Great Fiend is larger and much more deadly, stalking unseen through the shadows until they grab hold with their tendrils to make sure their enemies can't fight back.

In October we also see the first release of the Human Defense Force. The Company Leader will be the first hero that will be giving the orders to his troops. As the battlefield tacticians, they'll be responsible for overseeing the will of the Human Alliance in the systems though a large arsenal of options and specialized training. The Enforcer is the general that wont take to cowardice among his ranks, using any means necessary to keep his troops engaged in the combat. The Infantry are the backbone of the armies of the Human Alliance, coming from all walks of life in the Sirius sector, laying down their lives to protect planets and colonies from threats. The APC is the backbone of the army to deliver troops to where they need to be as speed and quick strikes are a favored tactic used by the HDF. Weapon Teams are another staple of the defense force's tactics. Using heavy firepower to remove threats before they can cause too much damage to the rest of the force, protecting from afar with superior weaponry.

The Legendary for October is the Shadow Stalkers Ascended Fiend. This eldritch monstrosity is a horrifying example of what the darkness of the labyrinth could have unleashed upon Tyria had the gateway remained open. Despite its size, it's the kind of nightmare that can only see in the corners of eyes before it appears. With its gripping tendrils there's no way to fight back, and nowhere to flee from its razor sharp talons.

For Age of Fantasy: Quest a new hero sings a melody as the Vinci Bard takes to the stage. Able to distract attention away from the rest of the party, or sooth their souls with a healing song, the Vinci Bard is a songbird that supports her friends with good cheer and good music.

In October the Urban Terrain spreads out with the Area Terrain. This style of terrain is meant to provide rough terrain for the battlefield, slowing down movement while offering some cover for those troops that wish to dive into the craters.

Project Roadmap

In November the red and yellow leaves of Fall trees make home for the Wood Elves. The Glade Leader is a protector of the Heartwood, leading his defenders against the enemies of the forest with great tactical knowledge of the woods. The Spell Weaver channels the magical energy of nature to support the warrior of the forest and uses the forest itself to attack and hinder enemies of the Heartwood. The Defenders are the first line of defense against the forces that threaten the trees and beasts of their homeland, always ready to mobilize to get between the enemy and those they protect. The Scouts are always on patrol, silently and carefully watching the edges of their forests for enemies. Experts at navigating the woods and remaining unseen, their arrows can take care of threats before they become a problem. The Giant Owls are swift and deadly hunters, flying high, they can pick out their prey and descend upon them with razor claws that are impossible to escape. Connected to the Spirit of the Heartwood, they will always help the Wood Elves in their times of need.

The Human Defense Force's November campaign starts with the Drill Sergeant getting the troops in line. An army that fights in anger can achieve great things and the Drill Sergeant is a master at riling up his unit to impossible feats in combat. Psy-Hackers use technology to break into the forces of destruction so easily manipulated by psychics of other factions. They use this data to create real world anomalies or to enhance units with advanced tactical maneuvers. Sappers are special weapon experts that employ an array of heavier weapons to devastating effect. With their advanced training they're able to assume a variety of battlefield roles based on their loadout. The GRUNTs are robotic soldiers designed for war. Expensive to build and maintain, they are designed to be heavily armored and effective at special tasks and missions that human infantry wouldn't be able to endure.

In November the Ratmen find another suitable companion for their growth serum as the Giant Otter makes it's way to the army front. Paired with a Ratmen Priest the Giant Otter serves as a faithful companion, getting the priest to where he needs to be in the heart of battle.

Here is the roadmap for the next few months:

That's it for now, happy wargaming!

The HDF do look very cool and I'm excited to get them, even if I have recently been selling off ummm another company's human force. But I actually just joined for the AoF: Quest & Shadow Stalkers stuff, hope I'm not the only one. lol

Tony Stephens

I can't wait for this, this is the reason I resubbed this month, I need sci fi stuff.

hawkgamedev

I quite like the design of the HDF miniatures they feel quite fresh to me compared to all the Imperial guard proxies on the internet. I really wanted to find an actual SF human army to play OPR for a long time and I'm quite happy with this release.

Wilhem Faust

Relax, releases are around the 4th of each month.

Dredval

my printer is waiting and ready to go :)

Robert Riese

cant wait to print them checking myminifactory nonstop :)

Robert Riese

Maybe it's her familiar? Emotional support stool? I really dislike it for a adventuring miniature.

Lord Blackheart

It should have no effect on your loyalty status.

onepagerules

So excited for the HDF! Finally!

Harrison E Lorens

Finally end in sight for shadow stalkers. They do nothing for me

Jeffrey Ernst

Typically they offer sculpts of the same pose but with diff head options rather than do multiple part mini's.

Justin Marlowe

I'm right there with you friend. Let's get some Dao Union while we are at it. Lol

Justin Marlowe

Welp, time to sell the rest of my guard.. replacements incoming!

Xurben

omg I love the Vinci Bard. I will be playing them in my next quest adventure!

Wardiej

Great preview - HDF tanks looked awesome and wood elves (hopefully with some tree men in due course, sound great). In fact the previews changed my mind. Earlier in the week I cancelled my subscription after a year or so - I’ve only just bought a 3D printer & have a yr of files to print, so was going to buy resin instead. But I have just resubscribed after seeing this roadmap. Technically as I was paid up until 1 Oct, and now next payment will be from 1 Oct, there is no break in my subscription……but just wanted to check that is the case and I’ll continue to receive loyalty rewards? For some reason DMs aren’t working for me - could someone from the OPR team let me know if possible?

KragMac

I personally don't like my miniatures to drag furniture or terrain across the battlefield. I agree that it's a great sculpt, so it bugs me even more .

Hans-Jörg Meyer

I honestly don't want to force the bard through the woods with a footstool glued to her foot. IMHO a poor design decision for a gaming piece.

Hans-Jörg Meyer

I hope the hdf has seperate heads, i am a fan of the variants where i can see faces. And so all my soldiers should get them.

Helmut

I know I’m getting ahead of myself, and I’m hyped for HDF, but I’d love to see Machine Cult, Dark Elf Fleets, or Ork Marauders next!

Brandon Ryan

They said in a recent video that they are focusing on the big 5 first. Human, Elf, Orc, Dwarf, and big guys. For GF that's battle brothers, and for AoF, that is Eternal Wardens. Hope that helps.

Justin Marlowe

HDF. Love the assault rifles, dmr, shotgun, and sword. I feel like the soldiers have just the right amount of detail and will be really fun to paint. APC is real cool too. Love the winged terror from SS too.

Justin Marlowe

Oh!!! yes the HDF looking really damn good :-)

CIARAN BYRNE

I loved the HDF, especially the dog!! More dogs, please!!

Santi Corvalan

HDF looks awesome. I do hope that the tanks have a different hull than the APC. I understand the appeal of a mass produce platform. However the idea of a heavy tank verses a light tank/apc platform is more appealing to me. This is chance for something cool.

Evilstans

Can we have more doggies please?

Miguel Angel

Oh s*ht !!! HDF seems AWESOME

Marco

I love 90% of it, those apc's guys....come on.

Rigger Mortis FPV

Everything looks so good! I really want to focus in on the Vinci bard, she's such a fun sculpt!!!

Victor Vasquez

When does the Machine Cult get some love???

ssapp72

The Vintage Wargamer

Xalia
