The Altamont Free Concert

This was a very interesting video to research. Given that it was an event attended by at least 300,000 people, there are endless accounts of the Altamont Free Concert floating around on the internet - many of which completely disagree with one another.

If you're interested in learning more about the concert, I'd certainly recommend this article, published by Rolling Stone. It was first put out not long after the concert, but has been republished online in the years since.

That said, nothing is quite as illuminating as film of the event itself. Here's some home movie footage archived by the Library of Congress. I show some snippets in the video, but the whole thing is definitely worth a watch to see what it was really like on the ground.

I've added it to my list. Building collapses are always fascinating to research - like aviation disasters there's often a sequence of smaller events behind each one.

Fascinating Horror

Can you please cover the collapse of Royal Plaza Hotel on Friday, 13th August, 1993 in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand? There's quite a lot of resources in English about the incident. The building collapsed down due to poor modification. 137 people lost their lives.

I came across a few references to this while I was doing background reading. Definitely want to learn more. It seems like there are quite a few festivals that went off the rails in recent history.

Fascinating Horror

On the topic of concerts going terribly wrong, I'd like to see you make a video about Woodstock '99 at some point. Like Altamont, it was an attempt to imitate the original festival, but it instead resulted in violence, sexual assault, destruction, fires, and one death.
