First Real Impression

since the last image featuring Rainbow Dash and Spitfire awoke some interest in my favourite ship, I decided to draw another image for it, probably a small series of images even^^ Perhaps there might be one every month, that would be sweet :D I'd love to show a few ideas I have in mind featuring SpitDash to you!
Anyways, this one isn't just as intimate or personal as the last one as this one features Spitfire's first few real seconds meeting Rainbow Dash and her thoughts about the rookie. She might have saved them before, but having her among the new Wonderbolt recruits is a step further - besides: This mare does have potential, will she make it?
Rainbow has an interesting character to her that brings up a few thoughts in Spitfire's mind, What they are? We will see I guess^^ Anyways, she is interested in seeing the young mare improving and developing at the Academy, even if Lightning Dust might be a problem at that point. We all know how that turns out.
Drawing this image has been quite some fun^^ I enjoy the simple style from time to time and drawing Spitfire and Dash is just perfect for me, as you probably can tell ;) I enjoy drawing my favourite pony from different angles and in different situations regarding pose, expression and clothes very much, which is why I also use these pieces for a little practice, as well. Hopefully this will work out hehe.
Really like the look on RD's face here and I just love how Spitfire turned out^^ Happy with the final result I can tell :)

I did focus on Spitfire, yep^^ I tried making the picture look interesting by blurring Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust out so the focus would be on Spitfire :) I worried that if they were even blurrier to make it even more clear, the picture would have looked strange though. So in conclusion, you are right, your eyes don't play tricks on you^^ And thank you so much, I feel super honoured to hear you like the outcome of this^^ The CMC? Actually not really. I do imagine Sweetie Mash (Sweetie Belle x Button Mash) would be a cute couple though.

2019-04-15 04:00:51 +0000 UTCXD I knew you'd mention Spitfire's butt, but yet I hope you like the look of it and its shape ;) I tried making it look quite nice^^ And no, RD and Spitfire don't really know about their future connection to each other yet. It's more or less the beginning process in which Spitfire slowly has to discover that there might be some feelings inside her awakening after years of being a cold machine like drill sergeant. It's mainly a scene back when the episode "Wonderbolts Academy" happened and RD first befriended Lightning Dust while Spitfire is walking off after saying "Not bad- for a couple of newbies", looking back one last time^^ Thank you very much for your kind words, Taily^^ It means a lot to me that you like this drawing and scene, yay! :D <3
