Secret Longing

Hello everyone,

oh man, I think we all know that if I had the time and space, I'd draw SpitDash pieces more often here and there.In fact, I would even like to draw a comic or at least a mini picture series, showing the different ideas I have for them and the little love scenario in my head. This here could be one of them.

After some first denial, Spitfire noticed over time, how much of a friend and relatable Pony Rainbow Dash became for her. And not only that. Somehow, being around Rainbow does make her feel more comfortable and open, like she could be totally herself and relax. At the same time, having the Rainbow mare around does give her a few tickles and maybe butterflies in her stomach. The Captain of the Wonderbolts however first couldn't believe there have been feelings re-awoken by the new member of the team.

Finally, Spitfire admitted some feelings for Dash and is secretly longing to be with her - without letting anyone know, of course. She is...loving her from the distance somehow? Trying to satisfy a few smaller longings like just wanting to smell Rainbow's scent, at least imagining she's close to her at night.
What does sound like a clicheed girly way of behaving around your crush is actually something I find pretty cute when it comes to Spitfire - that strong, passionate mare that always focuses on the important duties, someone who earned the respect and even fear of recruits and team members. And yet... she does have a soft side to her, breaking away from being a Drill Sergeant or that cold machine she once was.

I found it funny to draw this image here during the train ride back home from vacation a few weeks ago, had an enjoyable process on it- Spitfire's expression for example turned out to look exactly the way I wanted to portray her, just the way I wanted her to look like. I'm proud of that. While playing around with the colours in this room was a little difficult this time, I think it gives an overall atmosphere and I'm not too disappointed with the background. I'd say it's a decent piece after fixing Rainbow Dash's legs (I first made stand weirdly as SnoopyStallion pointed it out however) that might tell a little story.
