Dev Update - 2025/01/03

I hope you all had a few nice days but I'm glad that lies behind me now.
Time to get back to my chill schedule of working around the clock. :-D
I did get a bit of work done and I finally finished the work on the current scene (yesterday...). Took me long enough and it feels good to move on to something new.
The PC's are rendering the remaining images and animation for the scene and once they're finished I'll put together the next internal test build.
After that, I'll start the work on the next scene.
Speaking of the next scenes: I started revisiting the remaining scenes planned for this update. I planned quite a few "alternative" scenes beside the "main path" through the chapter but I'll most likely cut it down a bit.
The development of this Chapter has already going on for quite a while and I still have some scenes that I want to have in the Chapter so I need to cut it down a bit.
Nothing important will be cut, though.
Mostly MC idling around at work and stuff like that.
it will streamline the path through the Chapter a bit more but it also means less work now and in the future (branching!).
On to the first numbers for this year...
140 new static renders for a total of 1316
9 new animations for a total of 42
317 new lines in the script file for a total of 3910

2025-01-03 12:02:50 +0000 UTCBranching is always the big challenge down the road, and trying to limit just how much of that branching will impact other elements in the story. So, good luck managing it without going too crazy, but I strongly encourage branching because it makes for some amazing replay value. When you need 60+ playthroughs to see all the different scenes, you know you not only deserve an award, but that you will have a LOT of fans who love it when choices actually matter.
