Most shonen had either cartoony teens or a style that represented the shonen demographic to a tee, not to say it's a bad thing but you barely have anything art wise that sets itself apart, Bleach was the first imo to do that out of the modern shonen and it held a swagger and level of maturity behind its' character and art that no other shonen at the time had. It's fine to dislike or not feel the style, because it is different, I totally get that and it's not even exclusive to Bleach, but to claim the only good thing that Bleach had going for it was marketing is just wildly not true, you don't become one of the big 3, alongside Naruto and One Piece and stay there, on just pure marketing alone.
