Weekly update #16 - New content artwork near completion, another sneak peek

Hey all,

A short blogspot this week, as I try to be locked in to maintain the deadline.

Quick status update about that specifically : I still really want to fit the release next week, but there's still work to be done ; mostly scripting, but also a bunch of finishing touches here and there to sanitize the artwork before it can be integrated as assets. With the experience I have of past releases, I know it can take longer than I anticipate, especially if I want the assets to be clean and pristine. There's also the testing phase (which shouldn't be too long considering there's no major code changes) and the usual DevOps tasks related to the release itself. So we might be looking at another week before the update, but I'll keep you guys updated in the next weekly blogspot.

This week was mostly about progressing the new content artwork, which is almost done by now (I ended up drawing more frames than I anticipated but I think it's for the best).

Once again, still no major code changes anticipated, so it should be considered done (buffer kept for potential bugfix/DevOps tasks/release stuff).

Artwork is mostly done, one major piece (a couple frames) to finish then it will be all the sanitization/finishing touches/asset conversion.

And finally, scripting, which is kind of a meaty task but that involves no suprises/unanticipated issues so it should progress smoothly.

A bunch of work to be done still but it's the home stretch, so bear with me. I'll try to lock in and pump it to deliver the release as swiftly as I can, I know that this whole "artwork revamp" stuff has taken a long time but I think it will be nothing but beneficial for the project in the long run, I'm pretty content with how things are shaping up so I hope you guys enjoy the new look too !
