Here’s what we’ve been up to:
Added alternate path to Prologue: Added in a completely new path to the prologue built off of the Playplace Maintenance Halls. Introduces 1 new light shift puzzle, 1 memory loop puzzle, 2 new environments, and 3 narration scenes.
Improved atmosphere in WW: Added in puddles, litter, electrical pipes/boxes, towels (used/unused), small rubble, procedural concrete discoloration, and pipe drips. Also added in reflected water caustics, better (in our opinion) looking fog, and better looking water particle splashes.
Added Arcade side area to Prologue: Added in a side area (from the full release) into the Prologue to expand exploration & add in a puzzle/challenge (listed below)
Added in Memory Lane Arcade Game: Added in the Memory Lane arcade machine and game. A lore filled minigame unlocking an additional ending in the prologue!
Continued Finalizing Overall Optimization: Continuing our final pass over all levels for Optimization! Roughly half way done!
Added finalized Collectable system: Added in our new and finalized version of the collectable system for the Prologue! Along with this we added in 4 new corresponding narration scenes!
Continued Ending Animations: Continued the remaining animations of Smile and Mime for Ending scenes. Just a few more days here!
Continued Remaining 3D & 2D assets: Continued work on the remaining few assets currently blocked out in the Prologue build. Added 4 models!
Bug fixes: Squashed ~24 various bugs in the Prologue build.
Upcoming Focus:
Continue Main Debugging (For Prologue) Focused on Optimization: Continue debugging with our main debugging team getting get deep into optimization.
Finish Last 3D & 2D assets: Finish last few assets currently blocked out in the Prologue build.
Finish Ending Animations: Finish remaining animations of Smile and Mime for Ending scenes.
Pass on Polished Build to Playtesters: Pass off the polished Prologue build to a new team of playtesters to get rough estimates of playtimes, benchmarks, and last minute changes. (still in progress, we’ll let you know when it’s time)
