Polished & Optimized Various In-Game Audio: Optimized a huge amount of In-Game ambient, action, and narration audios by consolidating FMOD events and fine tuning/animating attenuations. Also remastered the entirety of our soundbank included in the Prologue build.
Continued Level Streaming & General Optimization: Continued implementing optimized streaming for faster load times and smoother transitions across all levels and areas in the Prologue mainly focusing on transitions between full Lumen and Baked lighting. Also continued making various general optimization tweaks.
Continued Draft Final Prologue Builds: Continued finalizing draft Prologue build to hand off to the main debugging team at the end of this week!
Bug fixes: Squashed 47 (WOO) various bugs in the Prologue build.
Upcoming Focus:
Start Main Debugging (For Prologue): Finish dev-only debugging of Prologue build and start main debugging with main debugging team. (continued from last week)
Finish Remaining 3D & 2D assets: Finish remaining few assets currently blocked out in the Prologue build.
Dev Note:
Hey Everyone! I just wanted to hop on here and give a bit more info since this week's dev highlights are quite short. This week has been focused almost entirely on bug fixes and optimization specifically for the Prologue build. We've fixed a total of 47 bugs & errors this week across the entirety of the Prologue including mostly soft lock bugs, and various bugs we had with a few different graphics cards and PC builds. Because of everything we had on the dev side we unfortunately we had to push the hand off to our main bug testing team:/ But we are planning on handing off the build at the end of this week, and with nearly everything else being complete, we have just overall polishing and a few assets to finish up and put in before we are all set for our Steam release!😁 I don't want to set a date or anything yet until we have our polished, QAd, and localized build, but with everything finally finishing up I'm getting super excited to finally get this project out and hear all of your feedback!
I'm also very much enjoying getting these dev notes out on here lately and hoping I'll have enough time over our polishing period to get some in-depth dev updates on various mechanics and things we have in highlights that week like we had quite a while back, so if you would like to see those again please let me know!
