Update!

Hey everyone, Jerry here! It's been a bit since our last post, and I'd like to write an update.

Write a comment below asking what you'd like to hear about, or any questions you have and I'll respond to the best of my ability.

Creator Demo & Debugging

The creator demo has been pushed back to early October, as September is coming to an end. Everything else is still on schedule. As far as I know there were some major issues blocking the developers from building the test build for our debugging team.

That issue has since been resolved, and the debugging process has started on the updated Waterpark level you all saw in the trailer, as well as a portion of the updated Childhood Memories level seen in the trailer.

The full creator demo hasn't been tested yet as we wanted to ensure the performance and optimization was up to par for some of the new levels. Sven noted that he was hoping to finish debugging and polishing in roughly 2 weeks, which would put us around the 2nd week of October for the Creator Demo to be released.

I don't believe patrons will receive a copy of this demo at release, only select content creators. However, we may post the creator demo a couple of weeks after content creators get their hands on it for all of our patrons.

I'll see about posting some development screenshots/videos from Waterworks and Childhood Memories.

Social Media

Social media posts have generally fallen on the backburner again, apologies for that LOL.

Everyone on the socials team has been incredibly busy, but we'll try to start pumping out more content. There really isn't much we're supposed to show to the general public though, so it'll likely be more of the same, if anything.


Entity Animations

Smile's animations have been polished. Not sure if I'm allowed to post them, but we will see.

Environment Design

The environment team is still heavily focused on revamping the Waterpark level, including new tubes for the lazy river, and more waterslides.

Our lovely artist, Crestfallen, created some Smile themed emotes for our Discord server, which you can check out at: discord.gg/subliminal

Closing Statement
I think that pretty much does it for this month's activity. Many team members were taking it slow, and rightfully so after the stressful month of August with our new trailer release!

In the exploration sense there will definitely be ways to get lost through interconnected rooms and levels. It won't be as expansive in size as it was originally envisioned to be, but that's because we want to be able to put as much quality and detail into the complex of levels and storylines that we have planned now as possible rather then have a bigger and less detailed and fleshed out environment.

This question is more aimed towards the exploration aspect of the game. Will there be multiple rooms that all connect together in-game like we see in “Found Footage” tapes? Will it be expansive and easy to get lost in? And if so, how many exits could we expect to see since there isn’t as many levels anymore?
