Yes. Unfortunately, the Alpha will have a slight delay in release. I apologize for the delay and late announcement. There are currently some Lighting bugs that need to be worked out before release that should take a couple of days to fully patch. The bug involves some Global Illumination and reflection issues working together that affect some puzzles in the first part of the alpha. It's a relatively minor issue, but not something that I want to put out in the first release of the game so I appreciate everyone's patience while this gets sorted and fixed. There will be a more detailed description for anyone who is interested in the bug and how it's being fixed. But with that said, Part 1 of the Alpha is now planned for the 20th of January this month (a 5-day delay). I look forward to finally releasing the first version of Subliminal for everyone to test, and as a Delay Gift the picture for this post is a screenshot of the first level to be released!
A bit more detail: Lumen (which manages GI and shadows) and Screenspace (which manages reflections) currently have some buggy behavior when working together in dark environments causing some reflections to clip through walls and cause some GI light bleeding into areas that are supposed to stay dark. This messes with some puzzle mechanics that depend on darkness in smaller rooms causing most of the room to be dimly lit when its support is black. This is not a big issue though and the bug should be sorted very soon by cross-checking and running some tests on Lumen and Screenspace light settings.
Thank you to everyone again, there has been an overwhelming amount of support and love for the game over the past few weeks, and I am insanely grateful for all of it and every one of you❤️
