Starting a Business?! ☀️ Weekly Catchup Ep. 10

Hello! Hope you're all having an amazing week❤️I've renamed our weekly blog post series to Weekly Catchup as I wanted to also include what I've been up to over the last week and it felt out of place including that in "Friday Favourites" 😅

It's been quite the eventful week for me! I'm back home from my Yamagata Adventure with Natsuki, and I've decided to start a business! I don't want to say too too much until everything is a little more prepped and ready to go, but this is something I've been considering for years but  just haven't had the courage to start. I figured there probably isn't any better time than now given how all my tourism-related work is on hold and I'm spending a lot more time at home. My friend and I will be co-owning it together, and if all goes well we should be up and running within the next couple months! I can't wait to give you guys some more updates. Hint: It's stationery related 👀💌

Now onto the favourites! ✨

★ To Eat/Drink ★

Oolong Tea - Oolong tea in Japan is always labeled with promises that it reduces your body-fat, or at least makes it more difficult for you to gain any more. I never really believed it much, I just drink it because it tastes good. However, ever since starting to drink it daily (it's the only drink I buy from the conbini/restaurants/vending machines now - I swear it's harder to gain weight 👀So maybe there was some truth to it after all? I ate like crap during my week with Natsuki (french fries, fried tofu, pasta - you name it 😂)and miraculously didn't gain any weight despite also not exercising! (I'm not the type of person that can eat anything and not have to worry about it, pretty much the opposite.)  So I'm gonna keep it up, why not. Do you think there's any truth to the claims of Oolong Tea reducing fat gain? 🤔 Curious if any of you guys have any thoughts on it!

Quinoa Macaroni - One of my iHerb staples, I always throw a few boxes of this in when I make an order! Often gluten-free options aren't as good as their "regular" counterparts, but in this case I swear this macaroni is even better than usual. There's something about the texture of it that's so satisfying! I don't eat gluten-free but I prefer this to regular wheat macaroni. I think it's also because I feel less heavy after eating a bowl of it! I like to eat it with tomato sauce, and throw in a bunch of chopped up veggies like corn, carrots, peas, green beans etc. and top with nutritional yeast! Overall a yummy comforting dish that's actually decently healthy :) I had it tonight for the 3rd time this week 😂

★ To Watch ★

Hanabi (Released as "Fireworks" in America): A 1997 crime-drama written, directed by, and also starring Takeshi Kitano. I swear he only says a total of maybe 12 words during the entire film, but for some reason it works. The film features a lot of artwork which is also all painted by Kitano himself - I find the flower animal series particularly haunting 👀

You can watch on Hanabi on Amazon Video and iTunes (But it's probably available for free to stream somewhere!)

Skin Decision: I love any kind of makeover show - style, hair, plastic surgery, I'll watch anything haha. NetFlix's new series Skin Decision is actually a little different than your usual plastic surgery show as it focuses more on the emotional reasons that people decide to have cosmetic surgery. I've only watched one episode so far but I really enjoyed it and will definitely be watching the rest of the series!

On Netflix: https://www.netflix.com/title/81038987

That's it for this week's roundup - let me know what you've been up to! I'm back to planning the business for a little bit longer before I head to bed. Have a great weekend! ❤️
