2025-07-26 01:36:50 +0000 UTCRIP Hinton Battle, who played the dancing demon 'Sweet'. Absolute legend of a Broadway performer. Winner of 3 Tony Awards; danced the original role of the Scarecrow in The Wiz, before Michael Jackson took over in the film version; trained in classical ballet under the tutelage of George Balanchine (that's roughly the equivalent of someone doing singing lessons with Taylor Swift, as in it's a very big deal). They dimmed the lights of Broadway in his honour when he died. Amazing career, incredible talent.
