Valentine's death was so satisfying in the show, but I also kind of wish they stayed true to the books, because it was so funny: Raziel got pissed at him for everything he did and shot a spark of fire right through his chest, which killed him instantly. Also, in the books Valentine only loves and cares about only one of his children, and it's Jace. He raised Jonathan as a soldier and was kind of scared of him and his demon blood. He didn't really care about Clary either, so it really hurt him when he had to kill Jace. And by the way, after everything that happened at the lake, the Clave took the cup and the sword (if I remember correctly).

Like, no, in the books it's very clear: you can only call up the angel ONCE, ONE time, even if you don't make the wish or you do, that's it. he's not coming back even if you chose to not make the wish, he told Clary that you better make it count bc he wasn't returning. so the blame Clary gets later on wasn't necessary, yes, keeping the secret that Jace was resurrected was important, but not bc of the wish, but bc he had died and came back

2024-07-13 00:14:51 +0000 UTCAs much as I like and understand the need for a fight in the finale, I can't help but wish Valentine had died the way he did in the book - because it was hilarious. Also I think Valentine telling Clary she's alive because he loves her in this episode is so funny cause in the book he told her he didn't and tried to kill her hahaha, Jace was the one he didn't want to kill. They kinda flipped it around
