the Jace parentage stuff was convoluted even in the book (cutting him out of Celines body was INSANE), but the book series drew it out across like 3 books which made it a little easier to follow/ made it kinda work. Also, Valentine is always the one to reveal this stuff in the show, which makes you question it a bit? They pressed that whole story within half a season, back and forth with who Jace's dad is - although, I suspect that is because they wanted to make the inc*st plotline as short as possible lmao

2024-07-03 23:18:46 +0000 UTCI always thought Alec this episode was out of character, I mean I get that Jace is his parabatai and all, but I wish he insisted harder on investigating once "Valentine" was saying personal things only Magnus knew. And I feel like helping Imogen execute "Valentine" was also not a very Alec thing to do... My heart hurts for Magnus, give him a break :(

Poor Magnus, the actor of Valentine portrayed him realllly well! Clary drawing the runes in the air is just giving Power Rangers Samurai lmao

2024-07-02 03:38:14 +0000 UTCI am so mad at Alec. The way he reverts to his Shadowhunter training and protocol when he is uncertain, almost cost Magnus his life! My heart was breaking for Magnus when he was shouting for his mother. What a horrible rune. A torture rune? We are slowly beginning to see the flaws in the Clave and that Valentine might not be wrong that the Clave is sitting on their hands. The Clave has such prejudice against the downworlders. We saw it early in season 1 with Alec being very derogatory towards mundanes and downworlders. Jace's head must be spinning. From the beginning of the show his surname was Lightwood, Wayland, Morgenstern and now Herondale. Let's hope this one sticks. Not much has happened in building the story line but we found out a few things about the characters. Small steps instead of giant leaps.
