Death's Shadow 6

“Cullens show yourselves immediately or I will tear down your home and forcefully remove you.”Bella demanded loudly. She had traveled with the guards to America and they were now standing in the Cullen’s front yard. Bella had shielded all of them so that the Cullens wouldn’t know they coming. They had waited until they had all returned home to reveal themselves. That way they didn’t have to hunt them down individually. Not surprising the entire coven raced out of the house and stood before Bella and the guards lined up. Bella held back an eye roll at the way they were standing. None of them would be able to properly defend themselves or the other members of the coven with the way they were set up. It just gave Bella more proof of Carlisle being a horrible coven leader.

“Lady Shadow it’s a pleasure to see you.”Carlisle lied. It was not a pleasure to see the dangerous vampire. Death’s Shadow only showed up to deal with laws breakers and Carlisle wasn’t sure why his family was being targeted.

Bella didn’t believe that for a second. The entire coven except for Edward were very afraid. Bella reasoned Edward wasn’t because he thought the guards were there to follow up on his complaint.”I can’t say the same Carlisle.”

“May I inquire the reason for this visit?”Carlisle asked.

“I believe the one to answer that question would be Edward.”Bella was going to make the boy admit his wrong doing in front of the rest them. That way it would fracture their loyalties. Letting them stew the entire way to the castle would make them more willing to turn on each other.

Rosalie glared at Edward.”What did you do?!”

“I simply informed the kings of the Denali’s insult against Carlisle.”Edward wasn’t afraid. He knew that the kings would side with him. All he had to do is trick Aro into believing his claims. Something he was very confident he would able to do.

“What insults did you claim?”Jasper knew there was lot more to Edward’s compliant to the kings than just the Denali insulting Carlisle. Death’s Shadow wouldn’t show up for something so petty.

“I simply mentioned that the Denali forced us to leave their territory.”Edward told them.

“That’s not all you told them though.”Victoria hadn’t been in the coven long but she had seen and heard enough to know Edward was a snake and would do anything he could to achieve his goals.

When Edward made no attempt to answer Bella spoke.”Edward filed a formal complaint. A complaint in which he claimed the Denali declared war against you.”

“What the fuck?!”Emmett exclaimed.

“You stupid idiot.”Even with how impulsive he was Rosalie couldn’t believe Edward would be so reckless.

“Are you all claiming you don’t know that Edward has requested that the Denali be tried before the court for charges of an unprovoked territory dispute?”Bella had suspected Edward acted on his own and seeing the reactions from coven was proof she was right.

“Surly you are mistaken. My son would never claim such a thing.”Carlisle knew Edward wouldn’t do something as dangerous as falsely accuse another coven of a crime.

“You think that I am lying?”Bella asked.

“No of course not.”Carlisle quickly backtracked.”I just think that there must be some kind of mistake. Edward would never falsely accuse another coven of something as serious as declaring war on us.”

“Was the message you left for Aro a mistake Edward?”Bella wanted to see if the boy would stick to his lie.

“It was no mistake. The Denali may have not said the words but before we left the threat they gave us was clear.”Edward told her.

“You lying son of bitch.”Rosalie took off to attack Edward but was held back by Victoria’s arms around her.

“Easy love. He will not leave this situation unscathed.”This whole situation was making Victoria very uneasy. Her gift wasn’t alerting her to any danger. It made her think something was neutralizing it because there was nothing more dangerous than Death’s Shadow. The fact that Edward made a false claim that would most likely lead to the death of the entire coven should have been having her gift go haywire. None of that was happening though and Victoria didn’t know what to think.

Rosalie took a deep breath to calm herself.”Lady Shadow Edward is lying.”

“I’m not lying.”Edward wasn’t going to let anyone call him a liar.

“Jane.”Bella motioned to Edward. Not even a second later Edward was on the ground screaming in pain.

“No, stop my son has done nothing wrong.”Carlisle ran his hands over Edward trying to sooth him but it wasn’t working.

Bella ignored Edward’s screams. Not only did Jane deserve to have her fun Bella was pissed at the boy for trying to get her mate, Kate and Irina killed.”You were saying Rosalie.”

“Edward is lying.”Rosalie also ignored Edward’s screams. He deserved what he was getting for making the false claim.”We visited the sisters where it was discovered that Carlisle had started a rumor about the trio and had been lying about the sisters’ origins.”

“What were these rumors and lies?”Bella asked.

“I did no such thing! Now release my son.”Carlisle wanted Jane to release Edward so that he could focus on defending himself against whatever Rosalie was about reveal.

“I like him in that state. Now back to these rumors and lies.”Bella said.

“Carlisle apparently started the rumor that the Denali sisters were the reason the legend of the succbus exist. He told not only us but many others that the sisters would bed humans and drain them of their blood once they were done with them. That is until he came along and convinced them to stop and to turn to animal blood.”Rosalie didn’t feel bad ratting out Carlisle. Even when they had overwhelming proof of his lies the man refused to admit the truth.

“No I did not. I heard the rumors at the castle.”Carlisle wasn’t going to admit the truth. It would do him no good in this situation.

“How do you explain your claim of introducing them to animal blood?”Bella asked.

“It’s the truth. They survived on humans until I showed them the humane way of feeding.”Carlisle told her.

“I’ll give you one chance to tell the truth. If you don’t the consequences will be severe.”Bella was going to break Carlisle before he got to the castle. That way he would be more willing to admit the truth in front of the audience Bella had Aro arrange for the trial.”Do you still wish to claim you were the one who introduced the Denali to animal blood.”

Carlisle took a moment to weigh his options. He could tell the truth and take whatever punishment Death’s Shadow seemed worthy enough for his indiscretion or he could keep the lie going and hope that Aro would side with him. Knowing the kings want for Kate in the guard Carlisle made his decision.”They knew nothing of feeding from animals before they met me.”

“Oh Carlisle I had hoped you would be smarter than that. I have been monitoring the Denali ever since their sire was killed. They were drinking animal blood before your great great grandfather was even a twinkle in his mother’s eye. If anything it is them who taught you how to live in the world. Especially after the kings kicked you out of the castle.”Bella smiled behind her mask when the rest of the Cullens looked at Carlisle in various degrees of shock. The odd ones out being Rosalie and Victoria.

“It’s true then Carlisle had nothing to do with the Denali and the kings did kick him out the castle.”Alice knew that Death’s Shadow wouldn’t lie about it. That meant that everything Carlisle had ever told them about the sisters and the Volturi was untrue. It made Alice wonder what else Carlisle lied about.

“We knew that when the Denali confronted him about it.”Rosalie was unsurprised by Death’s Shadow proving Carlisle was a liar. She had believed the Denali when they corrected him initially.

“Anything to say Carlisle?”Bella took great pleasure in seeing the look of defeat on Carlisle’s face. When he lowered his eyes to the ground and refused to answer Bella pointed to him.”Jane if you would.”

“Of course Lady Shadow.”Jane happily turned her gift from Edward to Carlisle. Any chance she got to cause the man pain she would take. It was things like this that made going on missions with Death’s Shadow so fun. She let Jane have free rein on how she punished people.

“What is going on?”Edward asked when he finally came back to himself. Noticing Carlisle on the ground screaming he rushed to his side.”Stop this right this instant!”

“Now for the rest of you.”Bella once again ignored Edward.” You will all be brought to Italy to be tried before the kings for Edward making a false claim. There you each will be given a chance to plead your case. Those who are found having no role in Edward and Carlisle’s actions and lies will be released. Those that are guilty I will be personally punishing.”

“We understand Lady Shadow.”Rosalie wasn’t worried about going to the castle. She knew she and Victoria were innocent.

“We are going to escort you to a plane we have waiting. We will not use force unless you give a reason to.”Bella predicted that Carlisle and Edward were going to give them many reasons before they made it to the castle.”Jane I want you to personally escort Edward. Felix you are assigned Carlisle. They will be your responsibility until we get to the throne room. Do whatever you need to get them there. Dismantle them if you have to.”

“You can’t do this to us!!”Edward screeched when Jane grabbed his arm.

“Shut up boy or the next sound you make will be screams of pain.”Jane threatened.

“I won’t be..”Was all Edward got out before he was overwhelmed once again with pain.

“Just carry him to the plane in that condition. I’ll muffle the sound of his screams.”Bella didn’t want to listen to the boy so she would put a shield around him to block any sound he made.”The rest of you let’s go.”

“Yes lady shadow.”Rosalie easily followed the guards. She wasn’t going to give Lady Shadow a reason to sick Jane on her or her mate.

Bella waited until the group started walking before she took her place behind them. She wanted to make sure no one tried to escape or fight the guards. Not that any of them but Edward were a problem at the moment. It seemed all the fight had left Carlisle and the man seemed somewhat shell shocked. Bella was happy about that. It would make him easier to crack once they were in front of the kings. Bella just hoped that this wouldn’t take too long. She had been looking forward to going home and spending time with her mate. She even missed Kate and Irina. She would never admit that to anyone least of all the pair of them but she did miss the duo. They were her sisters in every way but blood and venom and Bella loved them very much. Her life wouldn’t be the same without them. Bringing them into her life was something Bella thanked the gods for quite often and she would continue to do it for the rest of her life. They were just as important to her as her mate was. Which worked well in her relationship with Tanya because the sisters were a package deal. Not that Bella would ever make Tanya choose. Tanya was the greatest blessing Bella had gotten from the gods. She would do anything to show Tanya how much she loved and appreciated her. Even if that meant adopting two sisters. There were worse people that could have been attached to Tanya. Someone like Edward. Bella shuddered at the thought.
