Reluctant Mate 3

“Rosalie where are you?!”Rosalie flinched hearing Tanya’s voice thunder through the phone line. She had just got off the phone with Victoria and saying her mate was upset was an understatement. Even trying to assure Victoria everything was fine Rosalie knew the red head didn’t believe it. The only thing that would make Victoria relax was having Rosalie and Bella out of the castle. That unfortunately was not going to happen. Not with the revelation of Bella’s mate bonds with the three queens. The bond being just another thing she was dreading telling Tanya about.

“I’m in Volterra at the Volturi castle.”Rosalie flinched again when she heard numerous growls in reply. Tanya must have had her on speaker.

“What the fuck are you doing at the Volturi castle?”Tanya asked.

“Well it’s kind of a funny story. You see Bella went cliff diving..”Rosalie began only to be cut off by Irina.

“Why the hell was Bella jumping off a cliff?”Irina sounded more upset about that than Tanya did about them being at the castle.

“She was doing it recreationally with some friends. That’s besides the point.”Rosalie was already planning on talking to Bella about that later.

“That girl is going to be the death of me.”Tanya grumbled.

“Next time she goes I’m going with her.”Kate said.

“There will be no next time.”Irina told her.

“Back to the story.”Tanya told Rosalie.

“Well Bella was around the wolves…”Rosalie was cut off again by Irina.

“Why was she hanging around the wolves?”Irina asked.

“The cliffs are on the land they patrol. She doesn’t actually hang out with them.”Rosalie explained.”Anyway since Bella was around the wolves Alice’s visions weren’t that clear. So when she saw Bella jump off a cliff she had thought Bella had killed herself. She called and told me. I immediately went to Bella’s house to check on her.”

“Why didn’t you call us about this?”Tanya asked.

“I should have. As soon as I hung up the phone I should have call you right away and I’m sorry I didn’t. It would have saved everyone a lot of stress and worry if I had.”Rosalie really was sorry. If she could do it again she would have called Tanya right after she hung up with Alice.

“We will talk about that after you tell us what led you to being in the castle.”Tanya’s tone may have been mild but the threat was clear.

“When I was at Bella’s house Alice burst through the door telling us that Edward had heard her thoughts and thinking Bella was dead Edward rushed to Italy to request the queens kill him.”Rosalie told them.

Kate laughed.”He is such a dramatic bastard.”

“Yes, well the queens told him no. That’s where Bella comes in. Alice had a vision of Edward walking into the sun in front of a crowd of humans. She pleaded with Bella to go to Italy with her to stop Edward claiming that if he succeeded the queens would kill the entire Cullen coven including me.”Rosalie still wasn’t sure if Alice was telling the truth.

“That stupid fool.”Irina said.

“I’m guessing knowing that your life was in danger Bella happily went along with this stupid plan.”Tanya guessed.

“Of course she did.”Rosalie confirmed.”We got to Edward in time but before we got away Jane show up.”

“She didn’t hurt you or Bella did she?”Kate voice was laced with concern.

“No but I have no doubt she would’ve if we refused to go with her to meet the queens.”Rosalie heard multiple sighs of relief.

“Thank god.”Irina mumbled.

“What happens when you met the queens?”Tanya asked.

“At first things were tense. Edward tried to attack Bella.”Rosalie told them.

“I’ll kill him.”Kate threatened.

“I think you will have to get in line because it seemed to me that the queens were all planning on doing it.”Rosalie had noticed that although calm the queens were radiating anger. Most of it focused on Edward.

“Is Bella alright?”Irina asked.

“Queen Athenodora intercepted him before he could take three steps in Bella’s direction.”Rosalie told them.

“Why did the queen protect a human?”Tanya asked in confusion.

“At first I didn’t understand it myself. It wasn’t until Sulpicia touched Bella’s hand to read her that it all made senses.”Rosalie took a deep breath before she told them the next part.”After their skin touched Bella told me that it felt like a shock of electricity shot through her body.”

“What?”Irina roared.

Rosalie pulled the phone away from her ear when the volume of each of the sisters’ voices became painful to her ears.”I was surprised as well.”

“Are you honestly trying to tell us that Isabella Swan our shy, clumsy, very human teenage adopted child is mated to Sulpicia?”Kate asked.

“Actually she is mated to all the queens.”Rosalie corrected.

“What the fuck?”Irina exclaimed.

“Yeah right now Bella is with the three of them waiting for me to join them.”Rosalie was somewhat anxious to do so because even though they were Bella’s mates the queens didn’t have the best reputation. She doubted they would hurt Bella but Rosalie wanted to be sure.

“Speaking of joining them. Bella is part of our coven. Queens or not there are customs to follow. As coven leader I need to negotiate a courtship with them. That and we need to work out where Bella will live and when she will be changed."Tanya said.

“I think they realize that as they wanted me to invite you to the castle.”Rosalie wondered how the negations would go with one party being the royals.

“We will leave immediately. Carmen and Eleazar are still in visiting the Amazons so they won’t be able to be reached. If they do get in contact with us we will have them meet us at the castle. Where is Victoria?”Tanya asked.

“She is already in Italy and should be at the castle within the hour.”Although Rosalie wanted her mate with her she was not looking forward to the confrontation that was going to happen once Rosalie was face to face with Victoria.

“Good. I will text you our travel information. Let me know if the queens have any special requests for us when we arrive.”Tanya said.

“I will.”Rosalie expected the queens to have many conditions for the sisters when they touched down in Italy.

“Keep an eye on Bella. Even if they are queens she is still our responsibility.”Tanya told her.

“I will keep her safe.”Rosalie promised.

“We will see you soon.”Tanya said before the line was disconnected.

“Well that went well.”Rosalie mumbled. She was happy that things had turned out the way they had. Not that she didn’t think that Tanya would still be lecturing her later about her actions. Rosalie of course deserved the lecture. She had put Bella in extreme danger. Even though things were fine Bella still wasn’t safe. The human was in a castle full of vampires that lived off of human blood. It was not a good situation for Bella to be in. Rosalie just hoped that the queens had a plan to keep her best friend safe. If they didn’t Rosalie wasn’t going to let Bella stay at the castle. It didn’t matter if they were the royals Rosalie wouldn’t take any chances with Bella’s safety.
