The Forgotten Sister 8

“I would feel better if we could see Bella and Dora.”Kate said from her spot in the backseat of the car all the Denali except for Bella and Athenodora were riding in. They were on their way to the Cullen’s to deal with the guards. It was decided that Bella and Athenodora stay shielded from others so that they could scout the area and set a trap for the guards. Another reason for them to be hidden was the family knew that Edward had planned to capture them and turn them over to the kings. With Bella hidden it would make it easier for her to spy on Edward to find out his plan. Athenodora was staying hidden because it wasn’t safe for others to know she was alive and with them. At least until it came time to take care of the guard. Then she was going to be needed to help because the Cullens were most likely going to be useless.

“I would too but it would ruin the plan.”Tanya not only wanted Bella to be visible because it would make her feel safer but after being separated for so long not seeing physical proof her sister was alright made her somewhat panicky.

“A plan that won’t work if Edward knows Bella and Athenodora are with us.”Carmen said.

“I say we kill him along with the guards. We all know he is going to side with them.”Kate thought killing Edward was the best thing they could do.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he tried to capture us as soon as he sees us.”Irina expected Edward to act quickly to subdue them.

“Him not being able to hear our thoughts will cause him to pause.”Eleazar was sure that Edward would lose some of his confidence when he realized his gift was useless on the Denali.

“The fact that Alice can’t have visions of us and didn’t know we were coming will make him have to rethink everything. Something he will no doubt inform the kings about.”Tanya wondered how the kings were going to react to finding out that Bella actually could block Alice’s gift. They weren’t going to be happy about it.

“That will just give them another reason for wanting Bella back.”Kate wasn’t going to let them get their hands on Bella again. All of the Denali would give their lives to keep it from happening.

“We will be in hearing range soon so everyone remember the plan. We go along with whatever the Cullens say and then when the guard comes we kill them all.”Tanya reminded everyone.

“We got this.”Kate hated that they even had to pretend to defer to the Cullens but it was the only way to make sure that no one could sabotage their plans.

Tanya wasn’t surprised when the pulled their car up to the Cullen’s home that the entire coven and some of the wolves they had met the last time they were there were all standing in a defensive formation on the front lawn. Even Edward’s mate and child were there. Getting out of the car she waited until the other four exited and greeted the group.”Cullens it’s good to see you are well.”

“Tanya this is a surprise. We didn’t know you would be coming.”Carlisle hadn’t expected the Denali to show up. Alice hadn’t seen them coming.

“We wouldn’t leave you to deal with this situation alone.”Tanya told him.

“Why can’t I read any of your minds?”Edward was trying to hold back his anger at this new development but it was hard with how pissed he was about it. He needed to play nice with the Denali so it would be easier to capture them to hand over them over to the guard. Not being able to hear their thoughts would make ambushing them harder.

“Should you be reading our minds?”Irina hadn’t doubted Bella but it was nice to have confirmation that Bella’s blocks worked.

“The safety of my mate and child are on the line. I need to know what kind of threat you are.”Edward said.

“I guess you will just have to trust that we are not here to harm either of them.”Tanya had the same thought as Irina. She was happy that they had proof that Bella’s blocks worked. It made her confident that they would be able to kill the guards without any of her family getting hurt.

“Why don’t you all come inside and we can discuss how we should deal with the Volturi.”Carlisle wanted to stop Edward from upsetting the Denali. He was very curious of what they had done to make themselves immune to both Alice and Edward’s gifts. Shooting a look to Jasper and getting a shake of the head it seemed that the Denali were immune to his gift as well. Carlisle hoped that whatever they did they would help his family as well. That would only happen if they treated them respectfully.

“Good idea.”Tanya followed right behind Carlisle not even paying attention to his family or the wolves. Not only was she unconcerned with them hurting her but she wanted to give the illusion that they were there as a gesture of friendship. She and the rest of her family would keep up that illusion until they were betrayed by Edward and most likely Carlisle.

“Where is Bella?”Edward asked once everyone settled in the room. All of the Denali were sitting on furniture while out of the Cullens only Carlisle, Esme, Rosalie, Alice and Tabitha had taken seats. Himself, Emmett, Jasper, and the two wolves that came inside were standing.

“Bella is none of your concern.”Tanya wasn’t going to mention anything about her sister.

“As this whole situation is about her I think she is very much all of our concerns.”Carlisle thought that knowing more about Bella was the only way they would get out of this alive.

“Regardless of how this came about Bella will not be personally involved in how we handle any of this.”Tanya lied.

“Why not?”Alice was not happy about the Denali being immune to her gift. It made it so she couldn’t see what was going to happen with the guards. The change being something she had attributed to the wolves being involved. Alice now knew it was because of the Denali.

“Bella has fulfilled her part of the deal she made with the Volturi. It’s because of that myself and the rest of our family will be the ones to deal with them from now on.”Tanya told them.

“What deal did she make?”Rosalie wasn’t sure what to make out of this whole situation. She trusted the sisters more than most of her own family. The fact that they had never mentioned a sister that worked for the kings, a sister that even Carlisle who was friends with the kings never knew existed made her feel like she didn’t really know as much about them as she thought. Not that she trusted them less it just made her wonder what else they hid from everyone.

“Her deal is her own business. It’s up to her if she wants you to know.”The deal was just one more of the many things Tanya wasn’t going to tell the group.

“Could you call her and have her come here so we can talk to her.”And then I can capture her as well Edward added in his head. Bella was who the kings really wanted and Edward knew if he was able to capture her he would get more than just an advisor role for his part in handing her over.

Tanya held back an eye roll at Edward’s obvious attempt at trying to get Bella there so he could hand her over with the rest of them.”Bella is not going to come here. Nor is she going to talk to you. She is enjoying her retirement from the guard in a peaceful location away from vampire politics.”

“Maybe we can all meet up with her. She seems to have sway over the kings. With her help we would all be safe from future attacks.”Edward wasn’t going to let the subject drop. He needed them to tell him where Bella was.

“That’s a good point. Bella obviously has some type of power over the kings. If she didn’t then they wouldn’t have let everyone go in the clearing. If she were here we wouldn’t have to worry about the guard taking Tabitha and Tessesme.”Carlisle said.

“Bella doesn’t have as much sway as you think. If she did then the kings wouldn’t have been trying to capture her.”Tanya said.

“That’s true. If anything Bella is in the most danger out of all of us. The kings are willing to do anything to get her including kidnapping two members of a coven she isn’t even a member of. Yes the sisters are being targeted but it’s obvious that the king only want them to use as leverage against Bella.”Jasper was of the opinion that it would be stupid for Bella to reveal herself. The kings weren’t going to hurt anyone but her and Jasper knew that when they go their hands on her the kings were going to make her suffer greatly.

“Then she should turn herself over so that none of us are put in further danger.”Emmett thought that was the best idea. Then the king wouldn’t care about any of them.

”Bella is not turning herself over to anyone.”Kate growled at the very idea.

“Then what are you planning on doing? We aren’t going to let them take Edward’s mate and child.”Alice and the rest of the Cullens weren’t going to.

Tanya shot Kate a look to keep her quiet. It was decided that as coven leader Tanya would do all the talking. It would make it less likely that one of them would say the wrong thing.“That’s what we wanted to ask all of you. What is it you had planned before you knew we were coming?”

“Our plan was to call you and see what you had to say.”Carlisle wasn’t going to tell them that the original plan was to find out the Denali’s location to give to the kings.

“And after that?”Tanya asked.

“We were going to try and plead with the kings to release both of them.”Carlisle lied. Their plan all along was turning Bella over. Carlisle hadn’t felt bad about it because she had already been part of the guard. A valuable member if the kings kept her hidden for as long as they had. That meant she would likely be treated well so Carlisle didn’t think it would be a big deal for the kings to have her again. It being only the sisters that had shown up made him second guess turning them over but friends or not it was the only way to save his family.

Tanya easily picked up on the lie. Carlisle’s plan was to find out where they were and tell the kings. Tanya wanted to be mad at him but unlike Edward he was doing it to save his family. Edward was doing it to get the advisor role.”Did you not think of contacting your allies and taking another stand?”

“That would have signed a death warrant for everyone who stood with us. Unless Bella was there”Edward really needed them to tell him where Bella was. He wanted to be able to give Aro the location before the guards came. If they didn’t he was going to at least call Aro to tell him the sisters had shown up. That way Edward would still get credit for finding them.

“As I told you before Bella is not going to be involved with this or anything that happens in the future. She deserves to live a peaceful life. Especially after spending the last thousand years as a member of the Volturi.”Tanya told them.

“She was with the Volturi for a thousand years?”Carlisle was beyond surprised to hear that.

Tanya nodded.”Yes and after that much time she has earned her freedom.”

“If she was with them for so long how come no one has ever seen or heard of her?”If Bella was a member of the guard for a thousand years Rosalie would have thought at least there would be rumors of her.

“Aro kept her hidden.”Tanya wasn’t going to tell them more than that.

“Why did he keep her hidden?”If the kings went to such extreme to keep Bella from others than she was a lot more important than Edward realized. That just proved to him that he needed to figure out where she was. If he did then the kings would shower him with gifts. Maybe they would even let him take Caius’ place on the throne.

“That is Bella’s secret to share.”Tanya decided to change the subject.”Now that we are here we need to come up with a plan.”

“What do you have in mind?”Carlisle would let the subject of Bella go for the time being but would bring it up again later. Finding out how valuable she was to the kings Carlisle was thinking that it might be beneficial to the Cullens to turn her over for more than just getting Tabitha and Tessesme back. Carlisle was of the same thought as Edward. If they aided the kings in getting Bella maybe the kings would offer him Caius’ vacated spot. Carlisle could already imagine all the laws he would change if he were king. He may even push to outlaw vampires from drinking from humans.

“As the guard are here for us we have decided to turn ourselves over once they get here.”Tanya held back a smile at the looks of shock most of the Cullens and the wolves were sporting.

“You would give yourself to the guards?”Alice was very surprised to hear that.

Tanya nodded.”We have decided that the only way to keep you all safe is to turn ourselves over.”

“Why don’t you just go to Italy and do it there.”Rosalie had a feeling that Tanya wasn’t being truthful. The Denali would never willingly surrender to the Volturi. The would fight to the death before they let themselves be captured. That meant they had their own plan. One they didn’t want anyone knowing about.

“We didn’t go to Italy because we wouldn’t have made it there in time to stop the guards from taking the child and its mother. Based on where we were we barely made it here when we did.”At least that’s the excuse Tanya and the others came up with to explain it.

“Where exactly were you?”Edward tried to figure out where in the world the Denali were that would make it quicker to get to Forks than to the castle.

“We were on a nice vacation in Russia.”Tanya told him.

Edward perked up hearing that.”Is Bella is Russia?”

“Why are you so interested in where Bella is?”Tanya asked.

Edward tried to think of a way to disguise his true intention.“She is the only one who could save you from the Volturi. You don’t want to actually be used as leverage for the king to get to her.”

“Bella was more than willing to step forward but we wouldn’t let her. She has paid her dues and we have made our choice. I don’t expect you to understand it but I do expect you to respect it.”Tanya said.

“If she was willing to step forward then we should let her. Or like Edward said we should join her.”Carlisle wasn’t going to let the topic drop. He needed to know where Bella was so he could tell the kings.

“Enough about Bella. The kings will have to come to terms with the fact that they are getting us not her.”Tanya now knew that Carlisle wasn’t worried about his family’s safety. He was looking to get the royal advisor role. That or the idiot thought the kings would give him something better for being the one to find her.

Edward changed tactics.“You obviously aren’t thinking clearly. The kings aren’t going to be kind to you. Bella is your only hope of coming out of this unscathed.”

“I said enough. If anyone else brings up anything about Bella be it where she is or what she did for the Volturi I will take it as a personal insult and let Kate deal with you however she pleases.”Tanya threatened.

“We aren’t trying to insult you. We are trying to understand why you would do something as drastic as surrendering to the kings when you had a way to save yourselves and everyone else.”Carlisle didn’t take Tanya’s threat seriously. The coven leader wasn’t one to condone violence.

Tanya motioned to Carlisle.”Kate if you would.”

“With pleasure.”Kate jumped up from her seat, rushed Carlisle, grabbed him by the throat and slammed him to the ground while activating her gift. She didn’t pay attention to the rest of the room knowing that her family and Bella would stop anyone from attacking her.

“Stop right this instance.”Edward screeched as he tried to go to Carlisle. His attempts were thwarted by Tanya who restrained him from behind. He struggled against her hold but without his gift he wasn’t able to do anything. Edward felt a feeling of overwhelming fear when he realized how outmatched he was. Never before had he ever felt so vulnerable and he never wanted to feel it again.

“He was warned.”Tanya reminded the rest of the Cullens. All of them except for Rosalie were standing looking to be ready to attack.

“Yes he was and I am sure he has learned his lesson. Would you please call Kate off?”Jasper didn’t want to fight with the Denali. Not only did he agree with Tanya that Carlisle was out of line they were the only way they had of dealing with the Volturi. If the got pissed off enough to leave and the king found out then Jasper predicted it wouldn’t be just Tabitha and the child who would be targeted.

“He will be let go but if he or anyone else brings up Bella again we will not be so merciful.”Tanya warned.

“Of course.”Jasper hated that his gift no longer worked on the Denali. It prevented him from deescalating the situation. Something that he fully believed would be needed again because there was no way Carlisle and Edward were going to stop themselves from bringing Bella up again. The pair were obvious in their want to find out where she was. It made Jasper think they were likely going to turn on everyone to be the ones to give Bella to the kings.

Tanya threw Edward away from her. When he tried to attack her she punched him in the face hard enough that his body crashed through the wall and he landed on the front lawn.”That was stupid.”

“Please he don’t hurt him. His emotions are running high with the danger his mate and child are in.”Alice pleaded. She didn’t want anyone to fight. They had more important things to worry about.

“I think she should take at least a limb or two.”Rosalie would love to see Edward be put in his place. He was stupid to think he would be able to win a fight with Tanya. Edward had no fighting ability. He relied on his gift to protect him. Tanya being immune, something Rosalie was going to ask her about later, gave Edward no chance of winning.

“This is my last warning to all of you. Bella is not be spoken about again and if myself or any other member of my coven is attacked we will leave and you can deal with the Volturi by yourselves.”Tanya wasn’t actually going to make her family leave but she wanted the threat hanging over everyone so that they would think twice about getting physical with them.

“We will not bring it up again.”Carlisle said once Kate had let him go. He wasn’t happy about the way he and Edward were treated. It also had him trying to figure out a different avenue to get the Denali to tell him where Bella was. He didn’t want to be on the receiving end of Kate’s gift again but he needed them to tell him Bella’s whereabouts.

“Good. Now as we have our plan and the Volturi will be here in about an hour my family would like to spend this time saying our goodbyes.”Tanya needed them to leave the house to give the Cullens a chance to talk amongst themselves so that Bella and Athenodora could hear their real plan.

“We understand.”Jasper would have wanted to spend some time with his family if they were going to do what the sisters were planning to do.

“Thank you.”Tanya glared at Edward when he walked back into the room. The boy was smart enough to give the Denalis a wide berth when they walked past him to leave the house. Thinking over everything that had just occurred Tanya was pleased with how it went. Initially they didn’t think Carlisle was in on the plan to turn Bella over to the kings but the man had shown he was just as involved as Edward. Tanya wondered if they were working together. Bella would find out if they were. Tanya predicted Bella was going to find out a lot of things. Things that would most likely give them leverage over the Cullens in the future. They would need it because Tanya had no doubt when they overthrew the kings that Edward and Carlisle would be just two of the many that would try to take the thrones for themselves. It would probably lead to their deaths but Tanya didn’t care. It was either those two or Bella because the only way to take the throne would be to kill her. That being something Tanya would never let happen. Even if that meant she had to kill a friend.
