“Thank you Bella.”Emmett said as Bella just finished having the conversation with Emmett and his mother.Bella had gone through everyone except for Tanya, Irina and Kate’s talk with Sasha and something wasn’t adding up.Especially after meeting Kate’s father.Bella wasn’t completely sure but it seemed that the man was a chieftain from a long extinct tribe.She recited what he said but didn’t understand a word of the language even though it sounded somewhat like Slovak.If he was truly Kate’s father and the resemblance was uncanny then Kate was a lot older than what she looked like.That wasn’t all though.Each of the people she talked to seemed to be dressed in clothing that was decades out of date.That didn’t even cover the fact that Alice’s sister was an old woman when she died.Bella wanted to speak to Sasha about it but had a feeling Sasha had been lying to her as well.

“Yeah no problem.”Bella replied absentmindedly.

“Is something wrong?”Rosalie asked.She had spent her time by Bella’s side while she was having her conversations with each of the ghosts Bella had talked to and had been noticing Bella becoming lost in her thoughts more and more as time went on.

“No, nothing is wrong.”Bella quickly denied.

“That’s good.”Rosalie didn’t really believe Bella but didn’t want to push.

“So is it our turn now?”Irina asked.She had been waiting impatiently to not only talk to her mother but to spend time with her daughter as well.

“Can I take a break and get something to drink first and go to the bathroom.”Bella wanted a chance to get a little privacy.She wasn’t used to be around people so much and she had been talking for over two hours.It was becoming a little to much.

“Of course Bella.What would you like to drink?”Irina chastised herself for not remembering Bella’s human needs.She would have to research more about humans to be able to better predict what Bella would need in the future.Luckily after finding out about Bella Esme had went shopping for human food incase Bella were to stop by.”Would you like something to eat as well?”

“No thank you, just some water is fine.”Bella said.

“I’ll show you where the bathroom is.”Rosalie wanted Bella to use hers but knew Bella would think was weird for Rosalie to insist.

“Thanks.”Bella said.

“How do you think it’s going?”Tanya asked the other occupants in the room.Although Rosalie had gotten privacy for her talk the others had all spoken to their relatives in the living room.

“I think it’s amazing that I got to talk to my father.Bella’s effort to speak our language was noble even if her accent was heavy.”Kate had never realized how much she had missed her human family but being able to speak to her father had brought her such a feeling of peace and knowing that her father was proud of her and had been watching over her had made her extremely happy.

“Being able to learn about my human life has been extraordinary.I don’t think I will be able to thank Bella properly for the gift she has given me.”Alice had memories of her human life but as her sire had explained before he was killed she had lost most of the ones before her time in the asylum because of the electric shock therapy. It had always been hard for Alice not knowing what her past was really like and to be able to talk to her sister and learn that she had living relatives was beyond anything she could have hoped for.

“I liked talking to my mom.Learning that even though she mourned me she had a happy life and that my sister thrived with the money I sent them makes me really happy.”Emmett said.

“I can’t wait to finally talk to Sasha.”Irina had so many questions for her mother.Most of them to do with Bella.Tanya had hinted that Sasha was the reason for the child bond and if she was Irina wanted to thank her.

“What are you going to say to her?”Kate was undecided on what to exactly talk to her sire about.At first she was just excited at having the opportunity but now that it was finally here she wasn’t sure exactly what to bring up.A part of her just wanted to yell at the woman for all the trouble and heartache she put her,Tanya and Irina though but another part just wanted to experience the comfort that one could only get from a mother.

“I was to emotional last time to really question her to much.I think this time I want her to properly explain what she was thinking when she betrayed us.”After she had recovered from the shock of talking to Sasha Tanya had thought of so many things she wanted to ask and wanted to say to the woman.

“Here she comes.”Kate said excitedly.

“Come sit next to me Bella.”Rosalie said leading Bella back to the love seat they had been sharing.

“Sure.”Bella was finding that as the day went on that she was starting to be more comfortable with Rosalie near her.She wouldn’t say they were friends exactly but Bella was pretty sure Rosalie at least wasn’t going to try and kill her.Her siblings she wasn’t sure about but Bella felt Rosalie was at least safe to be around.

Hearing Irina let loose a quiet growl Tanya quickly grabbed Irina’s arm and led her to the couch across from the love seat.She pulled her mate to sit next to her and kept an arm around Irina to make sure she didn’t try and attack Rosalie.”So when do you want to start?”

“She’s here now so you can start anytime.”Bella had ignored Sasha’s attempts to have a private conversation with her because she was sure that Sasha was lying about the sisters origins.Bella was completely convinced they all were lying about their origins but couldn’t figure out what the lie actually was.

“Can you asked her why she did it?”Kate felt that was the most important thing to ask.

“Something broke inside her when her child died.Something that she spent the rest of her life trying to fix.First through finding companionship, then by taking an interest in Tanya’s life.The problem was that trying to fill the hole in heart with others wasn’t going to make her whole again.She never properly grieved.It was because of that that she never was able to find peace.She created the child as a last hope.”Bella wasn’t sure what Sasha meant and added it to another thing that didn’t make sense.

“Why didn’t you come to us?”Irina asked.

“She couldn’t.”Bella said.”Even in full madness she knew that you would be killed along with her.Telling you was never an option.”

Tanya hated the truth of that.They couldn’t have helped Sasha.No matter what they did it would have ended with all of them dead.”When the child got out of control why didn’t you stop it?”

“She says that when she thought of creating the child she knew in her heart it wouldn’t really work out but went through with it as sort of a round about way to commit suicide.”Bella shot Sasha a look hearing that.The old woman smiled sadly at her and Bella felt horrible for the three sisters.

“We could have helped you get better.Why didn’t you talk to us about what you were feeling?”Kate asked.

“It’s not a child’s job to help their mother and even if it was she says she was beyond help.The change in a way amplified the feeling of being incomplete.Where as before it could have been bearable once she was turned it became an obsession.”Bella told them.

“Did you truly ever love us at all?”Irina choked out between sobs.

Bella felt compelled to comfort Irina so she stood up from the couch and pulled the woman into her arms.”She says that she loved you all more than she ever thought possible.That you were her children no matter the fact that she didn’t personally give birth to you.”

“Then why wasn’t that enough?!”Irina sobbed clinging tightly to Bella.She was happy to be holding her child in her arms and the warm feel of Bella’s body and the scent of her soothed a part of Irina’s soul.

“You were enough.Don’t you understand?This is Sasha’s fault.It was her that wasn’t enough.She was the one who threw her life away without taking any of you into consideration.She was selfish and now she is trying to make amends.”Bella didn’t like the fact that one of her friends had made these three women feel so horrible.Sasha had always been a comforting presence but after finding out how she treated her adopted children made Bella think differently of her.

“Is that why you sent Bella?”Tanya asked as she rubbed her hand up and down Irina’s back to sooth her.

“She says it was because of her selfish actions and the extreme hardships you went through that you were gifted with the one thing she always wanted.”Bella didn’t understand how she was a part of this but then she thought about Ralph’s words of these people being destined to be in her life.She wondered if this is what he meant.Not that she would ever get a straight answer out of the man.

Irina thought it wasn’t fair that she had to lose her mother to gain a child.She wanted to yell to the heavens about how unjust the whole situation was.Tightening her hold on Bella she wept.Not only for herself but for Sasha who was doomed from the start.”I just miss you so much.”

“We all do.”Kate put her hand on Bella’s shoulder wanting to feel a part of her mother that Bella held because it was obvious to Kate that Sasha had been there with Bella her whole life.That gave Bella a place amongst the sisters even without the child bond.

“She misses you as well but is so proud of everything you have accomplished.”Bella told them as she tried to figure out a way to get Irina to loosen her hold on her.The woman was holding her just little bit to tight but Bella had a feeling that she was the only one Irina wanted the comfort from so she put up with it.After the room fell into silence with only the sound of Irina’s sobs Bella spoke when it began to be a little uncomfortable.”Was there something else you wanted to talk to her about?”

Tanya tried to think of anything but came up with nothing.She knew she would have tons of questions later.”Not now but will you be willing to talk to her for us again?”

“I guess so.”Bella didn’t mind to much talking to their loved ones she just hoped they didn’t use her as a telephone wanting to talk to them all the time.

“I have nothing else either.”Kate would wait until next time to talk because of how emotionally this talk was.She didn’t think she could handle any more deep conversations for at least the rest of the day.

Irina shook her head.”I will probably later but not right now.”

“Cool.Then I guess I will talk to you later.”Bella told Sasha.The woman smiled and with a wave disappeared.”She’s gone.”

Feeling Bella try to pull away from her Irina held on tighter.”Will you sit with me for a few minutes?”

“Ok.”Bella knew the woman was emotional and figured it wouldn’t be a big deal sitting next to her.It was when Irina pulled her to sit on her lap and snuggled into her that she became uncomfortable.”Can’t I just sit next to you?”

“Yeah or you can come sit next to me.”Rosalie understood Irina was upset but that didn’t mean she had a right to have Bella on her lap.Bella should be sitting on Rosalie’s lap as she was Rosalie’s mate.

“I think that Bella is fine just where she is.”Irina growled.

Bella jumped at the sound.It was another thing to add to the list of things not being quite right with the people in the room with her.Not wanting to bring up her suspicions before she had a chance to research on her own Bella decided it was time to go.”I will be fine here for a few minutes, then I need to go home.”

“You can’t leave.”Irina said.

“Uh yeah I’m pretty sure I can.”Bella told her.

“What Irina means is you never had lunch.It wouldn’t be right to take you home without feeding you.”Tanya didn’t want Bella to leave either but knew that if they wanted the human to actually want to see them again they needed to tread carefully.

“That’s alright.I’m not hungry right now and have plenty of food at home.”Bella made a move to get off of Irina’s lap but Irina refused to let her move.”You should let me go now.”

“I’m not letting you go.You need to stay here.”Irina wasn’t going to let her daughter leave.Not when she finally got to hold her in her arms.

“Yeah I think it’s time to go home.”Looking around at possible people who would help her Bella zeroed in on Rosalie.”Could you take me home?”

“Not a problem.”Rosalie was pleased that Bella chose her to drive her home.She would just have to figure out how to get Bella to invite her in her house once they got there.

Tanya put her hand on Irina’s shoulder and tried to pull her away from Bella.”Irina you need to let her go.”

“No.”Irina said.

Tanya leaned down to whisper in Irina’s ear.”My love if you don’t you will make her uncomfortable and she will avoid you in the future.

“Right,I’m just going to go.”Bella made a move to get away from Irina and sighed in relief when the woman’s arms loosened enough to let her up.

“When will you be back?”Irina asked.She may have let her child go but that was only because she knew that Tanya was right.Bella wasn’t a vampire she didn’t understand the bond.”We need to talk about our trip to North Dakota.”

“I’ll work it out with Rosalie.”Bella figured Rosalie would be the perfect go between.

“We will call your father to get him to give you permission.”Alice hadn’t worked it out completely but would get it done after Bella’s father came home from work.

“Great.”Rosalie grabbed Bella’s hand and led her out the door calling over her shoulder.”I’ll be back.”

“You’ll be back soon.”Irina called after her.She didn’t like Rosalie being alone with Bella without a chaperone.Bella was underaged and didn’t need to be doing anything physical with anyone.Even if that someone was her mate.

“She won’t be gone long.”Tanya assured her.

Kate chuckled.”I don’t know it seems like Bella has warmed up to Rosalie quite a bit.”

“Hopefully that means she doesn’t believe we are going to kill her anymore.”Emmett said.

“Should we go check on them?”Irina asked.

“No Irina we are not going to check on them.You need to let Bella and Rosalie have some time to bond.”Tanya told her.

“Fine.”Irina may have agreed but she wasn’t actually going to stay put for long.As soon as it turned dark she was going to go check in on Bella.Emmett and Alice had told them about Bella sneaking out in the middle of the night to dig up a box and Irina wanted to make sure she was there incase Bella snuck out again.It wasn’t safe for her daughter to be running around in the woods in the middle of the night and Irina was going to make sure if she did it again she could protect Bella.
