“What updates have you gotten?”Bella asked Rosalie as the pair were in the kitchen of her Washington D.C. home.Bella was making herself breakfast while Rosalie was going over emails and check ins from the shifters working with them.They had been invited to hang out with Tamera and wanted to go through what new information they had before they had to meet up with the girl.

“From the trackers placed on various cars I was sent a list of places they each stopped at.The shifters in charge of each target have taken pictures of the people they met up with at each stop and I had them send the information to Jasper so that they can try and figure out who they are.”Rosalie told her.

“We need to invest in some better computer equipment.We have enough money that it should be easy to get access to some kind of facial recognition programs.”Bella mused.

“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”Rosalie didn’t want to even think about how much technology like that would cost.

Bella chuckled knowing exactly what Rosalie was thinking.”Yes, I know it is to expensive.It would just be nice to have.”

“Maybe we could hire someone to do it for us.”Rosalie said.

“You know that is a good point.If I really thought about it I probably have someone I can contact to help us out.”Bella quickly dismissed the idea.”Never mind I don’t want to bring in anyone who would no doubt want to know why a teenage girl was so interested in weapons manufactures.”

“Yeah, I don’t even feel comfortable with you talking to your grandfather’s friend and you said he is trustworthy.Bringing in humans who don’t know about supernaturals could put a spotlight on us that we don’t need.”Rosalie agreed.

“So I guess we do it the hard way.”Bella wasn’t happy about it but anything that would keep more people from being involved with this situation the better.”Are any of the places visited anything of interest?”

“A couple are suspicious.I think one might be another lab.”Rosalie told her.

“We should have some of the shifters stake out the suspicious places and set up cameras if they are able.”Bella hoped they could find at least one of the three other labs mentioned in the documents they found in the one in Maine.

“Will they be safe doing that?”Rosalie asked.

“If they stay far enough away.We will just have to order them to not get to close.”Bella knew that without a direct order the shifters would get close and probably get caught.

“Maybe we can talk to their alphas as well.”Rosalie didn’t want anyone to get hurt.No matter how valuable the information they could get was.

“Reminding them if they got caught they would blow the whole mission could probably help as well.”Bella said.

“True I don’t think any of them would like to be held responsible for the bad guys getting away with this.”Rosalie knew that the punishment would be extreme for any shifter who screwed this mission up.

“I don’t think I would be able to stop the punishment either.”Bella said.

“When are you going to give Tamera her necklace?”Even knowing what Bella had in store for the necklace Rosalie still flinched at how much it cost them.It was a good idea just to expensive for Rosalie’s taste.

“How do you feel about clothes shopping?”Bella asked.

“If we are buying clothes for you and I then I am more than willing to go clothes shopping.”Rosalie hadn’t really gotten a chance to shop online for new clothing with how busy they had been.

“I figured we could turn hanging out with Tamera into a shopping trip.To make sure we get an invite to her house I was going to have Alice reach out to a personal stylist and shop for us.Then we can have the clothes brought to Tamera’s house were we can place the bug.”Bella explained.

Rosalie thought about what Bella was saying for a minute.”That could work.Not only would Tamera be really impressed with the personal shopping experience but we could use the clothes as a distraction for us to wander around the house while she is busy.”

“My thoughts exactly.”Bella said.”The added bonus being that we get our shopping done as well.”

“And even though Alice is helping she isn’t able to go to overboard with spending.”Rosalie liked that part of the plan the most.

Bella smiled.”That is always a bonus.”

“Speak of the devil.”Rosalie said as she looked at the text messages she just received.

“What does she have to say?”Bella asked.

“She wants us to go online because apparently there is something about you getting someone fired.”Rosalie pulled up the internet on her computer and put Bella’s name in the search bar.Once done she was overwhelmed with different articles.Picking the most reputable she read aloud.”Investment banker Micheal Overman accused of using son to trick Bella Shurlong into giving him control of billions of dollars.”

“I see that Tamera wasn’t kidding when she said that she was going to post about Billy.”Bella wasn’t honestly surprised.It was likely a big scoop.

“Witnesses claim that Micheal Overman sent his son Billy to sneak into the VIP area of a club to not only meet Bella Shurlong but to eventually get him to marry the young heiress.When confronted Billy admitted to the scheme in front of over a dozen witnesses including Bella Shurlong herself.One of the people at the club at the time said that after the admission Ms.Shurlong’s long time girlfriend Rosalie Hale had the manager not only escort Billy out of the club but had him banned from further entry.”Rosalie read.

“It seems like someone talked to the press.”Bella said.

“I like that they said I was your longterm girlfriend.”Rosalie didn’t care what kind of label they put on their relationship just that her claim was public and well known by the masses.

“I would prefer they said you were my wife but that will have to wait for at least until I’m 18 before that happens.”Bella had already been planning the perfect proposal.First they had to deal with a lot of things before that could happen.”What else does it say?”

“Just that Mr.Overman’s employer Taylor and Marks has put out a statement saying that they in no way condone Mr.Overman trying to take advantage of an under age girl by tricking her into giving him her money.You know the basic it was all him and in no way are we backing him in this scandal.They also mentioned an internal review and hope that this doesn’t stop you in the future from using them as an investment firm.”Rosalie told her.

Bella scoffed at the idea.”I doubt I would consider to ever using them for an investment firm not only because of Billy but because they are small fish.They wouldn’t know how to handle even a fifth of my money.”

“That’s true.What I saw from my research they aren’t even a Fortune 500 company and if we base what type of wealth the Overman’s have based on what Billy was wearing I doubt they are worth more than a few million dollars.”Rosalie had been able to tell that half the amount of jewelry Billy was wearing was fake.

“You noticed the fake jewelry as well?”Bella asked.

Rosalie chuckled.”It wasn’t hard.I honestly doubt the humans missed it as well.I mean how stupid can you be.He had entirely to much jewelry on in the first place.If he had stuck to the real items he would have come off wealthier.It was obvious he was trying really hard to fit in.”

“I always thought it was funny when I met my mother’s so called friends.The poorest of them would always be obsessed with name brands and jewelry when the wealthiest of my grandfather’s friends liked to dress more understated.The only time most of them went all out was for big parties or other places they were expected to dress up for.”Bella had hated when her mother’s friends had been at the house.They were awful human beings and half the time tried to rob them blind when her mother wasn’t looking.

“A lot of those people last night were definitely trying a little hard.Not as hard as Billy but close.”Rosalie hated having to deal with people like that but it had gotten them a couple invitations so it worked out.”Then again I doubt that any of them had ever been around a billionaire their own age.”

“I doubt most of them have been around a billionaire at all.”Bella said.

“They were rather wide eyed when the bill for drinks came at the end of the night.”Rosalie hadn’t been pleased when Bella had offered to buy a few bottles but understood why she did it.The fact that they spent a quarter of a million dollars on alcohol made her sick to her stomach.

“It was still cheaper than that bottle of champagne you sent to Cynthia Billings in the club in Seattle.”Bella teased.

Rosalie huffed.”It isn’t my fault that my vampire side demanded that I show I was a better provider than a stranger.”

“I’m not complaining sweetheart.You know that I am completely in love with your vampire side.No matter if it is violent or expensive.”Bella finished eating her breakfast and brought the plate to the sink.”We need to get ready.”

“Are you sure we need to pick up those pastries?”Rosalie asked.

“It’s customary to bring the hostess a gift when you are invited to someone’s house.That pastry place is the best in Washington D.C.”Bella told her.

“And the most expensive.”Rosalie added.

Bella leaned over and kissed Rosalie on the cheek.”Just think of the car you get to drive on the way there and back.That should put you in a good mood.”

“That does make me feel better.To bad it’s cold though.It would be nice to drive a convertible.”Rosalie knew they were lucky it was November and the sky was completely overcast with chances of snow because it gave them a way to make plans during the day.It was just that when she had seen what Bella had called a few cars kept in one of the barns which was actually a building the same size of the warehouse in Arizona filled with cars, Rosalie found many that she would love the chance to drive with the top down.

“I thought you wanted to drive the Jaguar prototype?”Bella asked.

“That was one of the many I wanted to drive.”Rosalie had been pleasantly surprised when she found numerous prototype cars stored with the others.Bella had explained that her great grandfather was the one who collected them and as he lived in D.C most of his life he left them in D.C.Her grandfather had wanted to have them shipped to the estate but never got around to it.

“We will have to plan some time after school is out to come back here so you can spend time going through all the cars.”Bella knew that Rosalie had wanted to tinker with the incomplete concept cars that her family had collected over the years.”Who knows maybe you could actually get a couple of the ones that don’t work to work.”

“That would be amazing.”Rosalie was already planning on which one she would start with.She also wondered if with Bella’s last name they could get there hands on more prototypes and some more concept cars.Rosalie had never really thought of adding any to her own collection but seeing the ones Bella had she could see why her ancestors were so interested.

“Unfortunately we have a lot of stuff to get done before we can even think about coming back here for vacation.”Bella hated that they couldn’t just go where they pleased.Even the small vacation they were taking when this was over wasn’t going to be long enough to actually fully relax.

Rosalie sighed thinking about it.”I know.”

“Let’s go get ready.I’m going to call Alice and have her get in touch with Tamera to ask about her style and what type of clothes to pick out.”Bella cut Rosalie off before she could speak.”Yes I will give her whatever budget you see fit but remember we actually do need clothes.”

“Is your growth spirt over?”Rosalie asked.

Bella shook her head.”No, I had to take the socks I slept in last night off this morning because my big toe ripped a hole in them.”

“Ok, then we need to get you some bigger clothing.”Rosalie said.Thinking of the fact that her mate was still growing brought about many new fantasies.She would have to get Bella to go for a run with her later that night.Then they would have to find a nice patch of grass to make love in.They hadn’t really had to chance to spend time in private in nature since before the coyotes came to Forks.Making her way into the bedroom she realized this was another house they were going to have to change out the master bedroom because it was over run with Bella’s grandparents outdated style.Not that Rosalie’s own style which was from her time living as a human was that modern.Sighing she pushed the thoughts to the back of her mind.They had entirely to many things to do and no time to do them.
