When Dawn Breaks 38

"Peter any movement coming from the building?" Bella asked over comms as she and Rosalie raced towards the building holding the shifters and away from the mountain lions shifters. She had Rosalie on her back so they could move faster. Bella knew time was of the essence because as soon as whoever was in charge realized they had disabled their people they would start to panic. What the result of that panic might be she wasn't sure yet.

"Nothing is happening so far." Peter replied.

"Ok, I want you to send some of the shifters to Emmett to help out with explaining what is going on as well as guarding the area. I'm not sure if anyone is coming back but if they do we need to be prepared for them. Also it would be helpful for Emmett as I'm not sure they are going to very trusting of him." Bella explained.

"Do you think he is danger?" Rosalie asked worried for her brother.

"Emmett is smart enough to deal with things. He will keep anything from escalating. The only reason I want others to go to him is that the shifters would feel more comfortable with their own kind. I'm sure if I had been in tiger form they would fine but not seeing what you and I are probably has them on edge." Bella knew that with Emmett's compassion he would be able to keep things from turning bad with the mountain lion shifters.

Rosalie was still worried about Emmett but having other shifters coming would definitely help things."Are we going back to Gil's?"

"I think going straight to the building is the best idea. That way we are there if something happens." Bella said.

Rosalie simply held on to Bella instead of replying. Even though they were in a dangerous situation she took a moment to compare being carried on Bella's back in her human form compared to her tiger. She honestly couldn't really find much of a difference except for the different forms. Bella moved through the forest like she owned it. Weaving her way through the trees and jumping over fallen logs and bushes not even second guessing her movements. This just confirmed Rosalie's observation that no matter what form Bella was in she carried traits of the other.

Making it to the building took a lot less time then when they were following vehicles. When they where close enough Bella stopped and Rosalie climbed off her back. "Any movement Peter?"

"Nothing visible from the outside except a changing of the guards." Peter's voice came through the line.

"Ok we are going to get closer so only use comms if there is an emergency. Rosalie and I will keep ours open only reply if we ask questions." Bella told him.

"Got it." Peter said.

"Ok what are we doing?" Rosalie asked.

Bella took a minute to collect her thoughts. "We are going to sneak up to the front of the building. Peter can monitor the other sides. They should be finding out that their people aren't coming any minute if they don't know already. We need to make sure none of them leave."

"Do we take prisoners?" Rosalie wasn't sure she could handle just killing a bunch of people but if they were doing bad things then it would be easier.

Bella grimaced. "I don't know if taking prisoners is something we can do. We can try though. The problem is it's just you and me here. What could we actually do with them if we caught them?"

"I know you’re right." Rosalie sighed."It's just hard making these kind of decisions."

"You are a good person of course it's hard to make these decisions. I wish to any god that would listen that you didn't have to make them but you need to promise me you will react right away. You can't look at the people inside of there as redeemable. This is an act first ask questions later kind of situation because you and I both know there is nothing positive going on in that building." Bella hoped Rosalie would not let her compassion rule her actions when they made their move. It was one of the things she loved more than anything about Rosalie but it also worried her. Her imprint wanted to save everyone even from themselves.

Rosalie thought about what Bella was saying. She had hoped they would be able to just go in and save the shifters without any conflict but she knew that was a silly wish. Bella was right. There was nothing good going on in that building and the people that were doing it would not for a second think about sparing them. If they knew that Bella was the Great White Tiger they would do everything they could to capture her as well. That was something she would never let happen. If that meant she had to fight then she would not hesitate. It would just put her mate in danger and taking care of her mate was her first priority. "I promise I will not try to save them."

"Another thing you need to prepare yourself for is what they may doing to the shifters. I know you and you are a sensitive person but when we get in there you need to be strong. They will need both of us to be strong. So just focus on the mission and when we get to the rescue part focus on getting everyone to safety." Bella hated having to say it but she knew Rosalie was going to want to break down when they went in that building. They would have time for that later though. When they got the first moment of privacy she would comfort Rosalie but that wouldn't be for a while and Bella felt horrible that she had to put Rosalie in this position. Rosalie was to pure of a soul to be dealing with stuff like this. It was because she was Bella's imprint that she was going into danger. It just reaffirmed Bella's need to get this done and take Rosalie away for that week she was promised.

"I know sweetheart." Rosalie grabbed Bella's hand and gave it a squeeze. She knew that Bella was right and she would probably have to go against her nature but they had a job to do. That was to get the shifters to safety. When they were safe then Rosalie would fret. "I can do this. You can count on me."

"Then let's go save those kids." Bella gave Rosalie's hand another squeeze then led them towards the front of the building. No matter how they had to do it Bella was determined that they were going to save the shifters while her and Rosalie stayed safe as well. In Bella's mind there were no other options.
