When Dawn breaks 36

"Hey guys we need you."A frantic knock on the door and Emmett's voice woke the slumbering pair causing Rosalie and Bella to jump out of bed, put their clothes on and rush out of the bedroom. Entering the living room they noticed that it was almost empty with only Gil having joined Emmett and Peter. Upon seeing them Emmett sighed in relief. "Thank god you guys are so fast."

"What's going on?" Bella asked rushing over to the monitors with Rosalie right beside her.

"This happened about five minutes ago."Emmett pushed some buttons on the control panel and motioned to a monitor. They watched as about 20 different people filed out of the building and got into the black suvs and swat team van and left through the security gate.

"What do you think?" Rosalie asked Bella.

Bella thought through different scenarios. "We have two main options. Both of which we would have to move quickly to implement. First we can use the fact that so many have left the building to try and infiltrate it. Second we can try and follow the convoy."

"Do you think you could catch up with them?" Peter asked.

"The wouldn't have made it to the main road by now so we could easily catch up with them." Bella told them.

"I think we should do that." Rosalie said as she rushed to put on the rest of her gear.

"I agree we still don't know how many people are in the building." Bella said.

"Do you need backup?" Emmett asked excited that the action was starting. It was fun to watch monitors but he really wanted to fight the bad guys.

"Actually we may." Before Emmett could get to excited she explained her plan. "What Rosalie and myself are going to do is follow the convoy on foot. We will have all of our communication equipment on, so I want one of you to focus solely on comms and tracking our gps location. Only speak to us if we ask you a question or if an emergency happens. We are going to keep our comm line open so you will be able to hear everything we are saying. If at any point we stop for an extended period of time and don't check in I want you to come get us."

"We can do that." Emmett told her.

"Perfect. If we do need you, come in quiet. This is a recon mission, only get involved if there is no other choice." Bella reminded them.

"Got it." Emmett said as he began testing the comms to make sure they were still working perfectly.

"Let's go my love." Bella motioned for Rosalie to follow her out of the house and took off through the forest. The darkness of the night gave them plenty of camouflage to keep human eyes from seeing them as they ran. Seeing the convoy had just started turning down the road Bella stopped Rosalie. "We need to be careful and can't get to close because of the supernaturals involved. We don't know who's in those trucks. I think we should split up."

"No, no way." Rosalie wasn't going to be apart from Bella in such a dangerous situation.

"Rose I'm not saying we go in different directions. I'm saying one of us should be on each ends of the trucks, one of us to see where they are going and one to make sure none of the vehicles break from the group." Bella told her. "That way if something happens we will see it. We will still be in the same area and if anything dangerous happens we can get to each other within seconds."

Rosalie sighed in relief. "That's fine, I just thought you were saying I had to leave you."

"Never. We are in this together." Bella reminded her.

"Together." Rosalie asked with a smile.

"Together." Bella promised. "Now you stay in front and I'll stay at the back. Try to refrain from using coms so we aren't overheard."

Rosalie grabbed Bella's hand and gave it a squeeze. "I love you. Stay safe."

"I love you to." Bella took off to the back of the convoy by running behind the last truck far enough away that she would not be seen or heard while she tracked them. She wasn't exactly sure what the group was up to but with the way they were dressed and the fact they brought so many people she had an idea. With the swat truck being involved she had a feeling they were going out to get more shifters.

What to do if that was the case was were she was conflicted. If they interfered and saved the shifters it would alert the people who were in charge that the shifters in this area could protect themselves. It could cause them to decide they were done with the area and move to a different location. If they did it may be impossible to find them again. So in the long term just observing would be the right thing to do. However she didn't like the idea of sacrificing shifters to gain intel. Bella also knew that Rosalie would try to save them by herself if Bella didn't help and there was no way she was letting her imprint go into danger without her.

Realizing that they were indeed going to have to interfere Bella started coming up with a plan. Making sure she was far out of vampire and shifter hearing range she spoke into her comms. "Emmett I need your help."

"What do you need." Emmett's excited voice asked over the line.

"I need you to get into all your gear including helmet and mask and bring the gps trackers we got for everybody and something to attach them to vehicles and meet me when the convoy stops. Leave right now and follow us but hang back until I tell you." Bella said.

"Got it." Emmett said. "I'm handing over headquarter operations to Peter and now I will be available on my personal comms. What are we going to do with this stuff."

"I'll explain when you get here." Bella told him. "Remember stealth is key. Hang back until I tell you. We don't want to let them know what we are doing."

"You can count on me Bella." Emmett promised.

"What is your plan?" Rosalie's voiced whispered through the comms.

"I think they are going to be kidnapping another batch of shifters. Knowing that neither of us will let that happen I figure we put the gps trackers on the vehicles in case they decide not to go back to the building in the woods." Bella explained.

"That's a good idea." Rosalie agreed. She was worried about Emmett helping but there was no way she was going to allow any more of those kids to be taken. She would just have to make sure Emmett stayed safe in the process because even though she gave him a hard time she did love her brother. If something happened to him she would be devastated.

Bella was concerned about where exactly they were going as after over two hours they were still running after the vehicles. No one had said a word so nothing bad had happened but it didn't help the feeling of unease that was slowly over taking Bella. She didn't know the area at all and kind of wished she had one of the local shifters come with them. It would have been to dangerous of course and she wouldn't have risked them but it would have been nice.

"Guys they are slowing down near a dirt road up here." Rosalie said. She was at the front of the convoy keeping an eye for the direction they were driving while Bella was in the back to make sure none of the cars went elsewhere. Emmett was farther behind as he not only was slower than Bella and Rosalie but they had a head start before he left.

"Fall back Rose." Bella told her. "Emmett come directly to my location."

"On it." Emmett replied.

Rosalie ran back and met up with Bella keeping close enough to see the line of vehicles. "The area they are going into is off track and there is no specific roads to drive on. As you can see it's wooded and seems to go on for miles."

"It seems like the perfect place to live for a community of shifters doesn't it." Bella mused.

"That's exactly what I thought. What do you want to do?" Rosalie differed to Bella when it came to this kind of stuff because not only was Bella the Great White Tiger, Bella had been groomed all her life to be a leader. Rosalie had no clue how to go about planning strategies or organizing troops but she trusted Bella to make the right decisions. She wasn't kidding when she told Bella earlier that they were the perfect pair. Where Rosalie shined at taking care of the little things, Bella shined at the taking care of the big things. Bella thought of the bigger picture. It left the small stuff to Rosalie but she didn't mind. Her mate gave her the chance to do something meaningful with her life and she wasn't going to complain about being thrust into a role that fit her perfectly.

"They have slowed to get where they are going. I want us to wait for Emmett, who should be here any minute, then the three of us will go together to see what they are up to. I don't want Emmett left alone but we do need his help. So we keep to our over all plan. Observe, then with whatever information we get we decide what to do next." Bella told her. "Although it is most likely they are here to kidnap more shifters, we don't know for sure. Until we do we can't plan much."

"Ok so we wait for Emmett and then go from there. " Rosalie said.

"Exactly." Bella looked towards the forest where the trucks went. She could still hear them so she knew they were still on the move. Now they just had to wait for Emmett because most of the plan hinged on having all three of them there. Hopefully Emmett would take this completely serious and not mess up. She was always the first to stick up for him but they had never been in this dangerous of a situation before. She just hoped she hadn't put her faith in the wrong guy.
