When Dawn Breaks Chapter 28

"What time did you make it to bed last night?" Bella asked Rosalie the next morning as they were laying in bed playing with the kittens.

"About 3am. I helped Emmett burn a bunch of Edward's stuff, then made sure the fire was completely out before turning in." Rosalie told her.

Bella chuckled."I bet Emmett was really happy to be able to burn all Edward's possessions."

"We didn't burn everything. We decided that all his old books and vinyl records are now yours." Bella gave Rosalie a confused look."Alice and Esme pointed out that most of them were rare or valuable and felt instead of donating them, they would be better off in your collection. Esme is going pack it all up and have it shipped to your estate. That is if you actually want it. I know it was Edward's stuff but I have to agree with them that it would be a shame just to get rid of it."

Bella gave Anne a kiss on the head and moved her to the bed so she could get up."You know my feelings on preserving history. If you are comfortable with it then I am comfortable with it."

"Where are you going?" Rosalie asked as she reached out to keep Bella in bed.

Bell dodged the hands as she made her way to the bathroom. "We have an appointment we need to leave for soon and I would like to eat before we go. So you need to get up and get ready as well."

"Why can't we just spend the day in bed?" Rosalie grumbled. The shower turning on was her only reply. Realizing they did in fact need to start their day she set Anne and Joe on their cat tower. "You two be good while mommy tries to romance your momma in the shower."

"There will be no romancing of any kind in the shower." Bella called out as Rosalie walked into the bathroom. "Which is why you are not joining me until I'm done."

"Pfft. Like I would want to join you in the shower." Rosalie told Bella as she stripped out of her clothes as quickly as she could. Just as she was about to open the shower door Bella walked out in all her naked glory."That's not fair. You say there is no romancing and then you flaunt your naked body in front of me like some siren."

Bella patted Rosalie on the cheek as she reached to grab a towel. "I'm sure you will get over your disappointment quickly sweetheart but we have a full day ahead of us."

"A full day we could have started in a very pleasant way." Rosalie said as she made her way into the shower.

"Just because it didn't start that way doesn't mean it can't end that way."Bella told her. "Keep that in mind as your motivation to take care of everything today as soon as possible."

Rosalie shut the shower off. "It still could have started out better."

"I know but we are doing important work. People are depending on us." Bella reminded her.

"I know. It's just frustrating. I would like to have a nice lazy day with you where we can forget about the world and spend the day in bed making love. With no interruptions or responsibilities." Rosalie said.

Bella slipped her shirt over her head and pulled Rosalie into a hug. "I'm sorry that your life has turned into this. It's because you're my imprint this is all happening. I wish I could have given you a more peaceful life instead of the constant chaos we've had to deal with."

"It's not that bad. You know I love you." Rosalie snuggled closer. "I'm proud to have you as a mate. I just wish we could have a break in-between each crisis."

"We'll get there Rose." Bella kissed Rosalie's forehead. "As soon as we take care of this kidnapping business you and I are on our own."

"What are we going to do about school?" Rosalie asked pulling out of Bella's embrace to get dressed.

Bella sat down on the bed to put her shoes on. "I've been thinking about that actually. How would you feel about going to high school with the wolves?"

"We would still be missing school." Rosalie pointed out.

"Yes, but we could do the work and take any tests remotely." Bella explained. "I'm sure we could set up a system that could allow us to keep up with our classes."

Rosalie searched through her closet to find one of Bella's shirts to wear."And we wouldn't have to go to school anymore?"

"No, but we would have to keep up with the work and not be lazy about it no matter what is going on." Bella said standing up and shifting from one foot to another.

"What's wrong?" Rosalie asked. "Why are you jumping around like that?"

"It's my shoes." Bella shifted her feet again. "They feel really tight."

"Those are your new Nike dunk lows you got at the mall right?" Bella nodded in reply. "Why don't you try a different pair?"

Bella grabbed another pair of shoes and put them on. As she stood up she frowned. "These ones are tight too and I've worn them many times."

"Do you think your feet grew?" Rosalie asked. "I mean humans continue growing at your age."

"Maybe, but what I do know is whatever happened my shoes are uncomfortable." Bella said.

Rosalie went over to pick the kittens up from their cat tower. "Why don't we take these two and get them and you fed and maybe ask what size shoe Emmett wears. You may be able to borrow some of his shoes until we have a chance to buy you more."

"I'm sure Emmett would be nice enough to help me." Bella said as they made their way downstairs to the kitchen.

Emmett appeared just seconds after them. "Of course I'll help. What do you need help with?"

"Bella's shoes are tight." Rosalie told him as she went about getting the kitten’s breakfast. "We think her feet have grown and wanted to know what size shoe you wear so she could borrow a pair from you until she has a chance to go shopping for more."

“I’m a size 13." Emmett held is foot up. "These bad boys could kick a football to the moon."

"Who's going shopping?" Alice asked as she and Charolette entered the kitchen. "Can I come?"

"Good morning Bella, Rosalie." Charolette opened the oven and pulled out a large platter of biscuits, a bowl of sausage gravy and hash browns. "I can make you some eggs if you want Bella."

"No this is fine Charolette. Thank you so much." Bella turned to Alice. "I need some new shoes as my feet have apparently grown. I was going to borrow some of Emmett's but my feet are bigger than his. I don't have time today to go shopping for any as we are going shopping for some other stuff today."

"Weeeelllll" Alice drawled. "I mean I would be the perfect person to go shoe shopping for you."

Rosalie shut down that option right away. "No way Alice. I am not letting you have free reign with buying Bella anything let alone shoes."

"Come on. I am the only person in this family qualified for this job. Let me do it." Alice begged.

Bella shook her head. "Sorry Alice, if Rosalie isn't comfortable with you doing it then I am not comfortable with you doing it."

"Then how are you going to get your shoes?" Alice asked. "What are you guys going shopping for anyway?"

"We have an appointment with a security supply company to buy some gear for Maine and one at a military supply company for some clothing." Rosalie told them as she cleaned up Bella's breakfast dishes.

"Whoah. Wait a second." Emmett said." You guys are going to go buy spy gear? Can I come with you?"

"That might actually be a good idea. We told them I was looking for better security equipment for my security detail and estate." Bella looked to Rosalie. "What do you think? Emmett could pretend to be part of my security."

"I see what you mean. That could work." Emmett began to cheer only to be stopped by a glare from Rosalie. "If we take you there are rules. You are to not act like in an idiot and don't touch anything. If you break something you are personally paying for it not Bella."

"God, you act like I am a child. I am a mature adult who can behave in public." Emmett grumbled.

Rosalie rolled her eyes at Emmett. "That still doesn't solve the problem of your shoes though sweetheart. Do you think your feet will continue to grow?"

Bella thought about it."I don't know. The last growth spirt I had was about 6 months ago. I grew 2 inches and gained two shoe sizes. It stopped about a week after I noticed my shoes were tight."

"Does that mean you are going to get taller?" Emmett asked. "Will your tiger get bigger too?"

"Yeah, usually when I get taller my tiger grows. How big I'm not sure." Bella told them.”I eat a lot more while it happens. I crave more red meat."

"I'll keep that in mind when I go shopping for groceries." Charolette said.

"So you basically need one pair of shoes to get you through the growth spirt, then we can buy you more." Rosalie was trying not to focus on the fact that her highly attractive mate was not only going to be getting taller but more powerful as the week went on. She had already been denied this morning, she didn't need to spend the rest of the day fantasizing about Bella towering over her enemies, striking fear into them with her size alone. She was glad she was wearing one of Bella's shirts because it was long enough to cover her from embarrassing herself if those fantasies got out of control throughout the day.

"How about I go with Alice and we pick out a pair?"Charolette offered. "That way Bella gets her shoes and Alice gets reeled in."

"I think that's reasonable."Rosalie agreed pulling out her credit card,handing it to Charolette. "She will actually need two pairs. A pair of sneakers and if you could find a good pair of non flashy hiking boots. We are going to be in the woods so she may need them."

Before Alice could interject Charolette grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the room calling over her shoulder. "We've got this, don't worry."

Rosalie picked up the kittens."Let me get these two set up in the living room and then we can leave."

She rolled her eyes as she heard Emmett talking as he and Bella went to the car.

"Do you think they will have shoes with guns in them?"
