beWilder’s Wildest: Semi Finals #1 – We Have Winner!

Ho, ho! Here we are again, beWildernauts! It’s the aftermath of another battle spectacular, or at least it was a spectacle! Our first semi final is in the history books and we have a winner to share, but which lady came out on top in what was the most engaging match-up we’ve ever had? Of course it was…

Natasha: “One round left until I win it all. Warm me up for the next one, won't you?” 

The winner by a wide mile was in fact Natasha, now just one step away from that crown! She beat down the poser that is Mystique by a vote short of a flat 3-1 split, as Nat racked up an all-time high of 29 votes to Mystique’s 10.

This match up was never a close one. We were hoping for a tighter match with some back and forth, a little bit of a horserace for good measure… you know, a real nail-biter of a slugfest! That’s not how you fans saw to it, and that’s ok, as the support flooded in for Nat right from the first vote. At 5 votes in, it was a 1-up situation for Mystique but that’s the last time she held the top spot. Only 6 hours in and Nat lead 14 to 5, and the votes kept racking up after that, until the final bell rang.

Compared to her last match against Kriem, Natasha improved her votes pretty much in-line with the increase in total votes cast, and she ended with roughly the same share of the vote too (73-74%). Mystique on the other hand did better in her last round against Kelsey, this time she lost about a third of her vote count and half her vote share, only taking in a sliver above 25% of all the votes. It’s always rough to see a girl going backwards… However, comparing apples to apples, Mystique’s performance was pretty much on par with Kriem’s when she went up against the same opponent. They both got roughly the same about of votes and the same vote share, so it may just be that facing Nat is too much of a challenge for secondary characters to handle! We’ll see if her last opponent, a guaranteed protagonist, can put up a better fight!

And with that, we can take one last peek at the pinnacle of the leaderboard list, as we see what’s in store for us in the next few weeks!

And that’s where we are now with one half of the Semi-finals left to go. As we can see, it’s a pretty even playing field for our upcoming bout, and both girls will want to score high in order to catch up on Nat’s stack of votes. Of course, this stockpile means nothing on the day, but momentum and the head game advantage all come into play come the finale, which is why it’s the biggest show in town!

On the flip side, Mystique is now out of contention for the title, and will be taking her mark on the 3rd place match line-up as the lowest Seed left in the tourney. We’ll have to see the outcome of the last semi-final to know who she’s up against and how she compares, but we still expect and interesting 3rd place play-off for both that spot on the podium and the bronze profile pic badge gift we’ll be giving out at the end of the contest. Just you wait and see!

Alright then, we’ve not much else to say about this match that’s not already been said now, so let’s turn our thoughts and kinky imaginations to the next head-to-head… and oh boy do we expect this one to be the closest and most heated one yet, for sure.

Now that Natasha waits to face her fellow double victor, whoever that might be, and Mystique readies to take on the one who falls while the getting’s good, that means our next match can only be Noemi vs Lara! Both girls aim to get a hold of that Mini-VN prize for the future, but both have a fan favourite, a fellow protagonist and all around smokin’ hottie to overcome first. The vote will kick off tomorrow and just like any other match, 1 vote more than your opponent is all you need! Every single one is likely to count in this bout, so let’s stop talking about it and get to it already! Until the polls open…
