Glad to see the Oliver Hardy cameo in the first panel. And also a good note to see a robot salaryman in the train as well.
But in all seriousness, you can't help but feel for Angela and Madeline at this point. Being so used to Emmy doing everything around the house has left them (for lack of a better term) incompetent when it comes to household chores.

I’m glad they’re Both learning. I am worried that Madeline will turn into spoiled brat instead of just Spoiled Sweet.

Haha I’ve known some very well-off professionals who’ve had to take the L or subway to work in big cities! Sometimes driving there is worse!

I greatly appreciate that the Delaires are incredibly wealthy, but she still takes regular public transport. Queen Behaviour

I thought just that when Madeline said she doesn't know how. But I feel it's more that she doesn't want to. I mean she can't not know how. And Madeline looked pretty responsible at the start of the comic doing her homework and stuff.

I feel this is kind of spiraling now. Mrs. Delaire seems overwhelmed with work and she couldn't keep up with what Emmy did. And then Madeline seems sad and sluggish without her, which only makes her mother's work more difficult. I don't really have any good ideas of how they could do things better right now.

Actually, in hindsight, Sterling making NANNY bots that raise children to not know how to pick up after themselves is not a great look and maybe even indicative of training dependency into their customer base

I know this is a stressful time for both of them but it’s nice to see them learning self sufficiency. The mom isn’t just getting takeout but trying to make her daughter’s favorite dish even though she clearly doesn’t ever cook, and now she’s open to teaching Madeleine how to do things right instead of yelling at her for the messy room.

Kinda! Though inspiration and reference aren’t exactly the same thing. There are lots of images of packed subway cars I had on hand.

Is that first panel a reference to the Fantasia 2000's Rhapsody in Blue???
Oof, reality is starting to hit Angie hard. Respect to all mothers who try their hardest to teach their kids to clean.

Absolutely amazing. You never really realize how good you have it until something like this happens. Looks like that is finally sinking in for the Delaires.

Is that first part a reference to Fantasia 2000? The best musical segment has a train scene like that with similar colours.

Messy, and helpless to that matter… yet I can’t help but find that detail about Madeline so endearing.
Angela not being able to cook on the other hand…🤕
