I love how deeply you analyze the subject, the way you present it in Photoshop and most of all how you lay out your thought process. I don’t mind the occasional ramble tbh though I do think they’ve occurred less often in the last couple of months. 😁 I was wondering if you curate your reference images to have similar lighting conditions and adjust them to have similar exposure values? I imagine this would help unify things even more when selecting paints / values for the mini. I’m not using references much other than pulling up a photo of a mini on my phone every now and then but I feel like it’s something I should do a lot more to improve my painting. Quick tip for viewing multiple references in context references on the computer: at work we use a free tool called PureRef. It’s available for Windows, Mac and Linux, is very easy to use and has a wonderfully low key interface that doesn’t distract.
