anyhow, what you are hearing is my gift to all of you, my patrons. recently i contacted and author and audiobook professional reader Mary Robinette Kowal (special thanks to Patrick Rothfuss for the introductions) i asked if she would be willing to take up a commission of reading this early version of the first third of my novel. she accepted and here we are!
Mary Robinette did an amazing job and not gonna lie it's kinda intimating to think that at about one third of it the book is 9 hours long already so...yknow... within a year or so the full edition is gonna be insane XD
a small disclaimer, being an unfinished version there are some things that will be streamlined for the final rewrite, some small continuity errors tweaked and the whole thing generally improved so take it all with a grain of salt ;)
anyhow here are the first ten chapters, i will now package the remaining 17. hope you like it as much as i did. also new large written update probably coming this month as well, next one the latest.
also for those interested, Mary Robinette has a patreon of her own where she posts chapters of her own work for beta reading among other things!

2024-09-09 02:59:47 +0000 UTCi'm guessing when they are finished. :P all joking aside fantasy books with many characters in a made up worlds are notoriously difficult to finish in a strong satisfying way because you need to somehow weave so many plotlines, motivations and causes into coherent and inspirational finale. it is a task made even more difficult when you are good at writing characters as people. they very stubbornly tend to outgrow your plans and take the plot in unexpected directions which you then have to find a way to weave into either a new position for the ending or force their path back into the originally planned finale. in short... good writing is fucking hard XD

2024-09-08 10:33:47 +0000 UTConce it is properly done i intend to do a crowdfunder with a simple structure. the more people join the more illustration pages will be added to the book up to 75. after that the final tier will be an audiobook tier and everyone involved will get everything. the final audiobook will be a brand new recording and i may have something very cool in mind for it.
