KAI - 'Adult swim' album

Much like me wanting Taeyeon to leave those damn rock sounds alone loool, I want Kai to leave the latin/reggaeton vibes alone.

It doesn't sound bad at all but musically it just doesn't go ANYWHERE?!?!?! With R&B he is in his ELEMENT and does so much in the songs even when they're laidback but with these songs? Idk it doesn't tickle my kitty.

Overall it's a laidback way to ease himself back into the industry i guess.

Enjoy!

The reason i love Kai’s solo music is because you can see how open he is to trying new things. I’m really happy he tries new sounds and experiments with different genres because that way he doesn’t get stuck inside a box and doesn’t get labelled as such. I do love his more r’n’b sounding songs but i also love this new side to him. He has just come back from the military and very much rushed this album so I understand what you mean but overall I think it was pretty good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, it does need a few tweaks here and there to fully accomplish that and for him to distinguish his own sound within the genre. You can see that he listens to r’n’b and afrobeat type of songs in his day to day life so I think he wanted to embed some of that into his solo work.

This was the first Kai album and comeback that I did not enjoy. The music and the concept felt rushed and the music feels incomplete. Even the choreography feels stiff and not typical Kai

While I’m so happy that Kai is active again, I’m not so eager to listen to this album again. His songs from peaches & mmmh album are better for my taste. Especially Blue! Ahh I want a heartfelt song like that again, not all dance/experimental songs pls KIM KAI. But I’m still happy with his comeback & the title track. Just the overall album listening is not that entertaining for me🤷🏻‍♀️

I remember him saying in an interview somewhere that he relied on various opinions for this comeback. I'm guessing he had to lean on his team more this round given the quick turnaround. I enjoyed wait on me and walls don't talk the most. But yes, would like to return to more rnb sounds. Agree that his vocals sound really good this time round as well.
