The overall conclusion from this is that Jessica is much more talented than the music she's being given which I still prefer because her voice is the center piece and BOY does it shine. The melodies she chooses and how agile she is...exciting!
It's such a shame she isn't in a big company with a crazy budget because she would truly soar.

2023-11-25 17:01:26 +0000 UTCYes! Her vocals were so fun and engaging, which for me is a big improvement from her previous albums. It seems like she is finally getting a feel of how to use her voice in a solo song. So hoping this is the start and she continues learning and exploring to find a good sound and identity for herself as an artist! Also, if you are interested and haven't seen them already, she has a few duet performances in China from a few months ago and a fun cover of levitating (from last year's New Year's Eve Gala).

I really do hear the Mariah in her, like she can sing the most boringly produced song but I'm still captivated because of how she sings. Also, it's so nice to see her singing again but I could tell since 2017 that her music comes last on her priority list. I really need a strong r&b album or even just a song from her because 'love me the same' was cute but it wasn't enough. Man, I wish she was on the forever 1 album like she would've ate on mood lamp.
