Othais and Mae talk about Othais + crew trip up to the British Militaria shoot, they met Rob from BritishiMuzzleLoaders in person finally, recent shoot successes, blackpowder "fun" and more!
Here is me sitting on my dragons horde of Hornady 35 Remington, 200 rounds total bought years ago at every opportunity because it was always hard to get. Haven't seen more in 3 years. I covet finding a non butchered Model 81 to go with my Marlin 336.

Finally getting around to listening to this one, I literally have a disassembled swiss peabody breech block sitting on the desk next to me. if you haven't already secured a suitable loaner rifle, let me know. I also have a shootable CT militia peabody which has other interesting small changes to the sling swivels and markings

The comment about Patreon canceling you for using funds to buy ammo is interesting. Karl has been saying for years now how Patreon supporters fund the ammo for InRange videos.

You should do a video segment of everyone trying the Japanese snacks.

Unfortunately, a lot of clubs up north are this way. There's covenants w local govs, even though berms and overheads have been built. The fudds still run the club I'm in, and anything but trap. skeet and bolt guns is probably considered gauche.
There would probably be that one guy who would stop FA fire. Maybe (probably) suppressed and SA would be ok. And the idea of them dying off and younger members taking over is probably going to be superseded by homebuilding in the used to be rural suburb taking over the range and the range going away. Kind of sad.

I will never join a range with fudd rules like time between shots, no semis etc. That kind of stuff really boils by blood. Hopefully those type of ranges die with their fudd owners and they get taken over by sensible firearm enthusiasts.

Othais it is good to hear you enjoyed the trip, and that it was also worthwhile for furthering the show. It was nice to meet in person. I feel bad about you all getting PTSD every time someone says Vergueiro... but speaking of, there IS an unconverted one listed for sale right now...

The Cabelas in PA is along 78 in Hamburg. The surplus store is priority one surplus. This assumes you were still in PA though.

I suspect, given an unwillingness to allow even semi auto or surpressed, this was a "I said no" more than a rational issue.

It's even worse, that particular range has a 5 second between shots rule. Typically for outdoor ranges like that, with residential houses close by, it's stupid agreements between the range and local townships that's the issue. I know that for my local outdoor range, which is maybe 45 minutes away from the one you shot at, many years ago a guy with an AK accidentally shot over the berm and a residential property was hit. Don't ask why anyone would think it was a good idea to build houses close to a gun range. To stay open, they made a lot of concessions to the local township, which was eager to shut the range down, which included no full-auto, 3 seconds between shot etc. It's sad, but it is what it is, and that particular range president is renowned for being a bit of a pain.
I maybe can't generalize for all of PA, but local indoor ranges close-by, especially those attached to an FFL or SOT, are not like that, and even rent out full-autos - MP5s, BARs etc. but you are limited to a 25 yard indoor range and the full-autos they have.
Personally, I was thrilled you brought the Stens and the Sterling, was looking forward to shooting them, but kinda knew how it would end up.

We may be Victorian Riflemen, but most of us there would have loved to get our hands on those stens.

I live for these, btw. I don't know how often you get feedback like that, but the casual, unplugged stories, rants, and behind-the-scenes antics are endlessly entertaining. Please never stop.
