Small Arms of WWI Primer 143

Small Arms of WWI Primer 143

I couldn't find any hard facts on it. I did see spanish testing reports where they were chasing tighter shooting groups than the rifles delivered by Loewe.

OMG, I need to turn on notifications from you guy and lady again! ....PS: I noticed something very wrong. The road to the range. Did I say road? Mud path, I meant to say. πŸ˜‰

Markus B.

It seems to have fixed itself, just did a test and it no longer is there.

I hope you'll get to the Chilean Mauser of 1895. I actually own one of those. πŸ˜…

Any truth in the assertion that Spanish steel was inferior in the Oviedo rifles?

Monte Harrison

According to the Spanish, the Oviedo were FAR superior!

C&Rsenal

Maybe a neutral war rifle ranking

C&Rsenal

Never once

Mae Responding: Strange, sounds good on my end. Maybe try another browser or try viewing the video on YouTube's site and see if that fixes it?

C&Rsenal

Got excited when he mention 762 NATO, can't wait to hear about the 1916

Madie

Finally one I own! Yay

Will Wooten

Crazy how Paul Mauser introduced the 7mil as the best full power rifle cartridge of the time. 130 odd years later and according to US ordnance he was only off by about 0.2mm (albeit with a fair bit more powder, but look at the casing technology that’s been implemented to contain the pressures!). Pretty cool though.

Jack Fairbrother

"Bosses," not "embossing." Read the comments for the trial version over on YT.

Bruce Brodnax

Neat

Coatl

In the words of Count Dooku - "Ive been looking forward to this"

Gage

Been waiting to see this one come around for a while. Thanks for filling in this key missing link in your Mauser chronology!

David Axel Hansen

During WWI, Spain itself was deeply divided between traditionalists supporting the Central Powers and socialists supporting France and Britain. Thus, they determinedly remained Neutral in spite of significant U-Boat predation on their merchantmen. I know of no use of the Spanish M1893 Mauser in WWI. So, now we can study the great South American Mausers too, I suppose. You might also comment on the obvious differences in manufacturing quality of Oviedo versus German-made Mauser rifles.

James A. Boatright

you know what would be a cool filler episode? Which neutral country was best prepared in the alternate universe in which they were dragged in? My money would be on the swiss, but not because of the 1911

David Herman

Oh and you said something negative about the Type 38.

Another difference between the spanish 1893 and ottoman 1893 is the ottoman used the older style of stripper clip guide. Which I think is mentioned once but then multiple times after you say the only difference is magazine cut-off.

Nothing like a good dose of historical firearms after a day of work, sounds like the next one will have even more history so I am eagerly awaiting it. I did notice the Primer theme song section had some distorted lines when it was playing, I reloaded the video to make sure it was not on my end but it still does it. The segment displaying the gun just before are fine as is the episode itself so it seems only the stock intro has the issue.

More mausers!!!
