Sick and tired of sick and tired

Sunday afternoon we did some rifle filming, and experimented with using the evening light to better control our levels in the high summer. I have not had a chance to review the footage though.

Because, Sunday night I had a Waffle House hashbrown covered in cheese and topped with chili. While some others had the same, I must have been the lucky winner. Because I awoke at 8am (I usually work evenings and sleep in) with the sudden and violent urge to empty myself through all available means.

These convulsions lasted until 4am this morning. When the cramps subsided just below the threshold of my exhaustion, and I managed 5 hours of sleep. I've spent the rest of the day nursing bottled water and eating single saltines every hour or so.

In the meantime, a screaming migraine means my attempts to keep translating are pointless.

Whining aside, bouts of sickness are probably the hardest thing for C&Rsenal to recover from. Because I have taken on the longest tasks for myself, any interruption in my schedule is extremely problematic. And despite my best attempts at staying healthy, something always creeps up unannounced. As a matter of fact, I had a fever of 102 degrees when filming the T-gewehr out doors.

When it isn't sickness, its travel, or personal life emergencies that take over precious time. As things are now, a good episode takes about 8-9 solid days of work. Research and translation is a lot of that time, so the few all-English language episodes are a bit easier. Which means our 2 week schedule should allow us to pull slowly ahead. But it seems every attempt to do so is thwarted.

Oh well. I'll probably be wrapping up next week's episode at 3am on Monday night.
