Bonus Resource: Kat Blaque’s Video Essays

Good morning cutie,

So I’ve been watching Kat Blaque for years — she mostly makes video essays about media and cultural commentary. But this week I remembered, “oh right! She’s polyamorous and has really great videos in her archive about her experiences!” She also shares very intimate stories about kink, interracial relationships, being trans and dating cis people, etc. She is probably one of the most vulnerable vloggers I follow.

If you’ve never watched her before, I’ll intro you with her video, “They’re Polyamorous, But He Can Only Date Trans Women.” It’s a really great example of how limiting a partner’s options based solely on gender — any gender — is harmful.

While I don’t see eye to eye with her on some things (e.g. she made a video saying she doesn’t believe in non hierarchy, but then mostly described people in sneakiarchies, or conflated distribution of resources with distribution of power), she is usually in lock step with my opinions otherwise. I find her to be really relaxed and level headed about some tough topics.
